Hi,

I'm having problems with my Mustang III (V1). I bought it about a week ago and everything was fine, until yesterday.

I plug it to the outlet, and when i turn the switch on, nothing happen. The amp is not responding. I tried several times and nothing. I measure the voltage at the outlet and is normal. At first, i thought it was the power cord, I measure continuity in the cord and it's ok.

The amp was

I don't know what to do because is a new amp.

I will be thankful if someone can help me, i don't know if is the fuse o maybe the thermal protection, because the amp was near a window and in the mornings it receives the sunlight (I live in El Salvador (Central America) and is quite hot some days).

If it's a new amp, take it back to the store and ask them to replace it with one that works. (I assume you have some sort of new-product warranty in El Salvador?

I don't think that it being in sunlight would cause this sort of complete failure. Prolonged strong sunlight might discolour the amp or maybe impact the LCD screen, but nothing more than that.

I have a Mustang II V1 and have had for 16 months. About a month ago as I was playing it just would cut off. I would then wait about 10 minutes and it would then go on. This has happened repeatedly until today and will not turn on at all. I have heard this from several others who own Mustang 2's. I am a bit dismayed as I keep my equipment in great condition. I am going to notify Fender.

Hi,

I took the amp to the dealer and they checked to see why it did not turn on.

It turns out that the solder of the power cable had come off. They fixed it and is running fine.

Apparently it is a common fault. I had already read something in the forum.

Thanks for your reply.

I've never heard of this before on the Mustangs, I don't think it's a common fault - what leads you to think this? Please provide a link to the "something in the forum" you've seen on this?
