Hi, i rarely use my fender mustang II amp since I didn't have time to do so.

Last 2 days, i've used my amp and it worked well. But now, It does not turn on, no signs of power like any lights from the LEDs and sound does not come out of the amp.

My amp has been repaired by the store where I bought the amp around 7 months ago in which the main board has been replaced.

Now, my issue is, I don't know what to do now since I almost bought a new amp for the price I paid for the repair last time. Within two years, the amp has been rarely used(mostly weekends only in my bedroom), and the amp broke 2 times already :O

P.S. i've bought the amp july 2012.

You don't give your location (country) but I'm surprised you had to pay for the original repair - Fender's warranty in UK is two years and USA is five years for example, I would have thought you would be covered?

As for what to do now: I assume you've done tests to confirm the power socket you're using is working, or that you've tried a different, known-working, socket; checked that all fuses in the plugs etc are ok. Further, I assume the amp has suffered no mishap that could explain its failure (eg you haven't dropped it, spilt coffee in it, etc).

If your local store can't help, it might be worth contacting Fender directly in your country, or speaking to Fender TSL in USA. If you're not in USA they may not be able to help directly, but they are very good at assisting customers with getting things sorted out around the world.

If after all that, you're faced with the choice of paying for a repair or buying a new amp, then that's a choice only you can make. Before you do either though, I would recommend really thinking about what could have caused problems with this amp, in case there's anything you can do to fix any external influence and prevent a re-occurrence again with a future amp. The Mustangs do seem generally to be electrically reliable, to have had two failures in less than two years is unfortunate and unusual.

Oh sorry, I forgot about that.

I am from Manila, Philippines. And the store only offers a year of warranty after the purchase.

Yes, I've tried putting it on other working sockets but to no avail.

The amp has been sitting well in my room and it didn't suffer from any physical mishaps.

I also tried using different power cables for it.

And btw, I've been using this amp with a 500w AVR. And power rarely fluctuates in my area.

Kind-of an obvious question: are you sure the AVR isn't faulty - either broken now and stopping the amp working, or could it have a fault that has caused a power issue in the past, and it be the cause of breaking your amp?

I'm not sure what further question you're asking at this point? If you want help from Fender, you'll have to contact them directly; if you want advice on what to do with your amp, then the only thing you can really do is see what it will cost to repair and then decide whether to do that or buy a new one. I empathise greatly with your plight, it's very frustrating when products fail prematurely, but I don't think there are any magic solutions here.
