Hello- I am using a Mustang III version 1 in one location each week instead of my own MIII v2. I noticed on the v1 amp that there is no "DELAY / TAP" function on the 2-button foot switch choices. This is a great feature that I have on my own v2 amp. Does anyone know if this was added to the v1 amps with a later firmware revision, or if it's just not going to be available on the MIII v1 ?

I don't have my own amp in front of me to check, but according to the Mustang V1 manual, the 2-button footswitch can control the 'TAP' interval. Whether you need a particular firmware version for that to work, I don't know. The latest V1 firmware is 1.10 - there is no reason for the amp's owner not to upgrade to that.

I think jwoertz is asking if the amp firmware for the MIII V1 offers a Delay/Tap function on the two button FS. It does not.

The firmware for V1 amps (version1.10) only allows for the following options:

QA1/QA2
Up/Down
Stomp/Mod
Stomp/Reverb
Stomp/Delay
Stomp/Tap

so there is no Delay/Tap option on the V1 amps for the 2 button FS (which I agree, would be good!) there are no more Firmware updates for V1 so v1.10 is the latest rev for V1 Mustangs.

you can see for yourself here: (go to the Downloads Tab)
(http://www.fender.com/support/articles/ ... ier-series.)

So for a V1 amp, I think the only way for you to accomplish this is to add a 4 button FS, which allows you to set the 4 button FS mode for the control over stomp/mod/delay {mode 3} then set the 2 button to stomp/tap.

This setup is a bit redundant as it now gives you two ways to activate/deactivate stomp, but if tap delay is really something you gotta have, that's prob. the only way to achieve it. (btw -- this is how I've set this up on my V1 amps -- I use an MIII and an MIV, (both are V1) and I essentially ignore the "stomp" button on the 4 button FS if I'm set to mode 3 on the FS)

Cheers!
/Ray
