I'm thinking of getting a TC Helicon VoiceLive GTX to augment my singing. Has anyone used one with their Mustang? I have an M-III but I'm not familiar with how a voice processor stomp would work with it.

Could I still use the M-III's presets when connected to the GTX?

If I used the GTX's guitar effects could I use the M-III as just an amp without it's own effects? ....Just thinking aloud....The M-III is a Guitar amp, so won't I need a separate amp for the vocals from the GTX, i.e. a PA?

Hi Codeseven,

With this processor, likely the best usage would be to bring the amp's headphone output to the "Aux" input of the TC unit. You could also use the XLR balanced outputs with appropriate cabling/adapters. Then add your mic (I assume you will want to add a mic), and the TC unit would then become your mixing/processing point.

In regard to your Fender® Mustang's modelling and effects, you may have to experiment a bit. But a good starting point might be to select the "Studio Preamp" on the Mustang, then process as desired with your TC unit. Then perhaps come back and add a more specific/less neutral amp model on the Mustang, and effects, if desired. I hope this is helpful. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan
