Hey all,

I'm trying to to control my Mustang V with a Ubuntu 14.04 desktop. I was unable to locate the mustang-plug package in the main repositories but I was able to find the .deb package on a website which installed without any broken dependencies.

When I load up PLUG, I get a message in the bottom of the window that says "Unable to find a suitable device."

Is there something special I need to do to get this working? Some kind of permission issue? Seems to be very little documentation about PLUG that I can find

Anybody know of any other workarounds to control their Mustang V from Ubuntu?

I've seen articles describing difficulties using PLUG on Ubuntu - this seems to be an Ubuntu issue, the O/S by default restricts USB access. Ubuntu config settings to fix this are, for example, documented on the PLUG wiki:
http://code.piorekf.org/plug/wiki/Home (scroll down to where it says 'note for Ubuntu users')

Also note, again from the above PLUG homepage, the PLUG author says it only currently supports Mustang 1 and 2. So it may not work at all with your Mustang 5, or only work partially.

You may find it easier overall to obtain a Mac or Windows PC and run FUSE.

I appreciate the information. I will try that workaround tonight. Worst case scenario, I'll just set up a VMWare or Virtualbox image with WinXP and run Fuse on there, but this solution is a lot more cumbersome.

Is there any update on where PLUG is? I haven't seen any activity in a couple of years since they were posting issues with M1v2. Is there any other solution for linux that is working?
