I tried to see if this question has been asked before an couldn't find it. I'm wondering if there is a way to set up an effect such as tremolo and save it so if you wanted to switch a trem on for a particular song and off when you didn't want it you could have it always at the same preferred setting without having a separate pre-set? For example if I was using the 57 Twin with some overdrive and wanted to add some tremolo more or less on the fly is there a way to do that? I'm not sure if I'm getting my question across very clearly but I would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Yes you can do this using just one preset, you don't need a separate preset.

Configure the preset with the tremolo settings you want. Save the preset. Now, with the preset 'active', pressing the 'MOD' button on the amp will turn the tremolo on/off. When you turn it on, it will have the saved settings.

If you have the Mustang 3, 4 or 5 and you have the MS-4 four-button footswitch, you can also control this with that footswitch. Put the footswitch into 'mode 3' (press the leftmost button until the orange LED lights up next to where it says 'mode 3.' Now, pressing the third footswitch button will turn the MOD effect in the current preset on and off. You'll see the MOD light (under the MOD push-button) on the amp turn on and off too.

if you have a mustang I or II you can program the MOD and DLY/REV knobs in fuse. Very useful for adding FX on the fly

Are you asking if a specific preset tremolo or reverb or whatever will come up when you insert this effect into a patch, where there was no such effect before?

I would like to see some control over the this as well: user assignable defaults for effects. Many of us have a pretty good idea of what trem/echo/whatever settings we'd like; being able to have "KM Trem#1" or "LooseRoom Reverb#4" (example) stored in Fuse would be a GREAT time saver
