Are there any suitable very sturdy road cases for the Mustang III, or suitable replacements that could be pressed into service? I've seen the Gator G112A, but haven't had any luck with Gator in the past - looking for something that (I know...) likely costs more than the amp itself, but will provide a good level of protection?

One suggestion: note the dimensions of your amp. Find other amps that have the same (approx) dimensions, in particular well-known, popular amps, at the professional / gigging end of the scale (as opposed to 'home-use' amps). See if there are any cases made for those amps, that are close enough in size to use with yours.

My (untested) suspicion is that there probably aren't many (if any) cases made specifically for the Mustangs, but obviously plenty made for other amps, which will be advertised / branded with those other amps' names. Hence why searching for cases for those other amps may be more successful.

We use a ton of Gator cases for our stuff transporting it weekly and have never had a problem. I'm curious what problems you had.

Granted it has been a while, but I've had older gator products come apart, leak, warp, hinges break after a short time, that sort of thing... I gather from your reply their QC has improved greatly... Perhaps a 2d look is in order? Are g112A cases sturdy enough to be on the bus/trailer/whatever?

Scott - that was sort of what I was thinking, hence the question.

I've been using the Gator G-Roto-112 for years now without problems.

Thanks...posts from here and other places I've asked do suggest Gator has improved significantly since I last looked at them. Seriously thinking to give em another try.

The dimensions of the M3v2 are virtually identical to the Tech21 PE60 (which has been around for a while), if that helps.
