Is it possible to switch between more than two presets in any way With footswitch and Fender Mustang II v2? I have the 1-button footswitch, but it is only possible to switch between two presets With this?
I want to be able to switch fast between 10-15 presets that I am going to store at the amp. I dont want to need to switch it on the amp, as I am was thinking of playing 10-15 riffs without stop between.

Sounds like you might be happier with a Mustang III ... you can only toggle between 2 presets with the 1 button footswitch and your Mustang II amp does not support the 2 or 4 button footswitches.

Honestly this is where I think Line 6 has the edge on the lower wattage models. With the Spider 15 and 30 you can get a pretty robust footswitch that includes an expression pedal. It would be awesome if there was something similar that could incorporate the USB port on the mustang but I'm not sure how possible that is.

Wouldn't that be cool!?

I'm thinking something along the lines of the Floor minus the built in DSP/audio - just the switching and expression pedal mechanism. Call it the "Floor EXP" for floor expansion pedal. If FUSE can control these amps via USB, surely a pedal could be made to do it.

Why is everybody saying that, when I just bought my Mustang II :o :P

I would definitely buy such a pedal, if they where to make one :) Its the only thing I find I miss at the Mustang II

As would I.

I made a little mockup of what I'm thinking about:

Image

The USB cable would connect (at least on the EXP end) using a cable like this:

http://www.usbgear.com/computer_cable_details.cfm?sku=SC-U3MAB&cats=188&catid=187%2C102%2C188

A version for the III/IV/V models would have 10 banks of 10 presets (5 preset buttons).

One hitch is that a USB cable longer than about 12 feet (probably need at least 20' for on stage use) would require an active USB cable.

I just kept it as simple as possible; bank select buttons wrap (ie. pressing the "^" button while the red bank was selected would jump to the amber bank) and when going from one preset button to another, it always selects the "red" preset until it is pressed again to select the blue one.

There is nothing for it to remember and there is no setup. All setup is done on the amp or in FUSE (just setting up the order of the presets) and there is no software or firmware upgrade required - it's just sending a preset selection message...

Since I have the MII, I have no idea how the expression pedals are setup so I just omitted that from the mockup. But an expression pedal would be a definte plus.

Seems totaly doable to me - no massive R&D needed...

---

Dear Fender, if you use this, please send me a free, black Fender logo "t" shirt size X-large. JK

I love this

and would buy it immediately. I have the Mustang II and I just have a Clean Twin on one footswitch slot and the Intheblues Tremolux preset tweaked with a fuzz stomp for my lead tone on the other and use an external OD and Rat pedal for extra options on the clean patch

but something like THIS would be a big hit. I agree... it should be doable.

This is what "The other guys" are offering.

Looks like it hooks up over an Ethernet type cable. I'm glad i didn't see that when i was in the market. I might have pulled the trigger on the Line 6. I was just turned off by the Axe 212 so was hesitant to go with the Spider 30. I don't regret purchasing the Mustang in any way. The Mustang II is all i need for now and just wish it had a slightly better foot switch option... and maybe a better Big Muff sound but that's another topic. Not sure how USB slave/master technology works but i have to believe its possible to get something like this to work via the USB port.

What pedals exactly do you use on the clean channel? And what kind of preset is " Intheblues Tremolux " And what kind of Music do you play With this setup? And I am also curios of what guitar you use With the amp :) I mostly use a Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro

I have a Joyo Ultimate Drive and it works swimmingly with this amp. I use it to just give it a little extra dirt to the clean preset but it’s a very versatile pedal which can sound just like the RAT I have next to it but with a fuller sound. It does mild gain better than the RAT so I use that to blast some extra Fuzz/Distortion on the clean preset. Both these pedals work great with the mustang in my opinion and for what I’m doing with it.

The Tremolux preset I’m referring to is this

https://fuse.fender.com/mustangv2/prese ... -tremolux/

I really like Shane’s presets and the best thing about them is they are made alongside a real amp so sound extremely natural. I took this preset and made a handful of presets based on it and they are probably my favorite presets on my amp for smelly tones

This is my B slot on the footswitch and just love the tone from it. The amp needs to be at 4 on the master volume to open it up though. At least with my setup.

https://fuse.fender.com/mustangv2/prese ... land-fuzz/

I’m using a Strat with an ash body and Single Coils. Custom shop 69s in neck and middle and Seymour Duncan SSL5 in the bridge so if you are using a Les Paul with humbuckers I’m sure you’ll need to adjust. As for the music I’m into… I’m a Gilmour geek guilty as charged. LOL. I also Like classic Rock and 80s rock (cheesier the better) as well. I like listening to metal (Up The Irons!) but suck at playing it so I don’t try.

I have been looking at the Joyo Ultimate Drive myself, but from the videos I have been looking at on Youtube, I have a little crush on the Joyo Sweet Baby Overdrive. So that is the first pedal I am going to get. Number 2 maybe will be the Joyo Ultimate Drive.
I am most in to Learning to play Guns N Roses at the time. Trying to learn Sweet Child of Mine. But the reason I was missing the opportunity to switch between more than two presets, is that I also wanted to learn a couple of riffs that I found of the user ZokyMusic at Youtube. He had tabs for riffs from a lot of Music I like: Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Metallica, AC/DC and more. Lots of famous riffs that I would love to learn, and that did not seem daunting difficult to learn. ( I am very much of a newbie at playing the guitar  )

And after I wrote my Message, I checked out the links to the presets, and sees that one of them is a Eric Clapton tone-preset and the other one is a David Gilmor/Pink Floyd tone. So I downloaded them both. I love Eric Claptons ballads, and Pink Floyds "Wish You where here" is also great. Definetaly two presets I have to put into my amp :D

The Gilmour one is what i created using the Tremolux preset as a starting point.

the tone i was going for was something similar to this. Gets fairly close to being somewhat close to being passable when cranked up and using the SSL5 pickup

And then I could not resist the temptation any more, and ordered me a Joyo Sweet Overdrive pedal....
