Hi Buddies,

My name is Eduardo and I'm from Brazil, living near amazon tropical rainforest. I've bought my amplifier and also a Fender USA Telecaster 60th Anniversary last week and I was so happy to jam with my friends... but then it happens.

I've decided to download all softwares that comes along with the products and after updating the firmware attending to FUSE's prompt, the amplifier doesn't respond to the turn on switch.

Can anyone help me? It's really hard to send it to assistance because I'm far away from every big city around here.

Thanks in advance!

Well, it happens that the amplifier suddenly returns to life later, apparently normal.

Any ideas on what happened? Should I be worried about it?

Thanks in advance again.

Sure, my friend.

I followed the instructions that FUSE's software gave to me: turned the equipment off. Pushed the wheel button while turning it on. Entered firmware update mode. Did what was told to - bundled firmware update, ok, the white button shined, the process went ok. turned the equipment off again. And then it all happened. No turning on for a while...

Thank you for wasting your time with my problem.

Best Regards!

honestly I couldn't even guess what happened there. It sounds like a hardware issue, but happened in the middle of a firmware update. Maybe Fender staff can shine some light on this one. :?:

I would really appreciate it, because my greatest concern is about what I should do now:

1. Send the amplifier to a technical assistance (please, say I do not need to :cry:);
2. No need for worries.

Either way Fender legally imported equipments here are very, very expensive. I've expended R$8k in brazilian cash (about U$4k) and I can't loose the investment. It's real and hard worked money around here. They were my teenager's rock'n roll dream :D

Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes there are lots of people out here, most likely no-one has a good answer to your question - and we're all just users of Fender gear like yourself, so it's entirely down to someone's goodwill and generosity with their time to read other people's posts and reply.

Do you mean the amplifier was completely dead - nothing happened at all when you turned it on, no LEDs, no sound, no nothing? If so, then it's almost certainly nothing to do with the firmware upgrade.

Also, if there were a power-supply fault in the amp, I'd usually expect that to be a permanent fault. But it seems it's only happened once.

It could be: a power cut, or other electricity supply failure to the wall socket you used; or maybe the wall plug or plug into the amp were loose (not making a connection) and you didn't realise.

If the amp is now working fine, and this was a one-off occurrence, then personally I would be inclined to think all is ok with the amp. Might be worth making a point of turning the amp on, using for a while, turning off, leaving for five minutes, turning on again, using for a while, turning off, waiting five minutes, ... etc. If you do that for a few times over a few days and all is well, then your amp is almost certainly ok.

Most important thing is to stop worrying and enjoy playing your guitar!
