I received a "file corrupt" error message when following the exact instructions to update the firmware for my Passport Mini, from the downloaded file here at Fender.com . I have a few Mustang amps that I have successfully updated the firmware on with no problems. This time, on this amp (Passport Mini), with this file, there was a problem (file corrupt error message). Thanks Fender, great amps, guitars.

try using a different browser to download the file (if possible).

May be obvious. But turn off your antivirus program then download. I overlook this sometimes. Drives me nuts.

Thanks. Firefox downloaded this update as an .upd file and the update went smoothly, chrome downloaded file which had a .zip extension and that was the corrupt file. Thanks again for your help, all is well now. :)

The firmware downloads are now .ZIP files - this is the case for 1.10 (and the 2.x downloads). These are not corrupt files. You have to unpack these after download to get the .UPD file (eg on Windows just double-click on the .ZIP, which opens a window showing the contained .UPD file; drag the .UPD file onto your desktop, etc). Older firmware downloads (eg 1.9) were the .UPD files directly.

So it may well be correct that Chrome gave you the .ZIP file, as that is the right download file for the current firmware versions. Maybe Firefox helpfully did the extra step of automatically unpacking the .ZIP file for you - or maybe you've downloaded the 1.9 rather than 1.10 firmware?

Nice info Scott. I was not aware of that.

Thanks for further comments. All is well with all FUSE updates and firmware upgrades on all of my Fender digital modeling amps. Maybe someone else can use this thread and my experience to make their installation perfect, like mine are now. :)
