It's great when a plan comes together.

Enjoy the MIII!

Hi,

Why did you change from IV to III???

I'm trying to have some feedback from users. Based on that I can make a decision to either buy the III or the IV.

I'd like to know about that too. I think the 4 is too big for me to use to its full potential, but I love the fender twin and supersonic - I think those will probably be my go to amp models - so I dont know if its worth it for me to get an amp that big that I'll probably never have past 3 or 4 on the master volume. But I want it to sound authentic and have all the range it should have. I'm willing to pay the extra $150, I just dont know if I should haha.

For the time being I'm only playing some coffee shops and bars solo or with a drummer so I'm not sure I wanna lug the IV around for that either. They have the same capabilities for recording so I know thats not an issue.

The size of it was a factor. Don't really need that because we are mic'd through a really nice PA. Just didn't do that amp justice with all that power cooped up LOL. I will say the few times I was able to air it out so to speak, people took notice.

Not many chiming in on the 4, so I'll give my two cents. The difference in size isn't really all that much bigger than the 3. Around 4 1/2" on the height, 6" on the width and the depth is the same. The extra 12" speaker makes a big difference between these two amps in my opinion. I spent about 3 hours testing the 3 before I tried the 4, I would suggest trying them both out at your local guitar store. For me, after plugging into the 4, there was no turning back.

Your needs today will dictate which amp you get, but tomorrow your needs may change like the other gentleman who traded in his 4 for a 3. My band plays live at least once a month in different bars around town. Some places are around 40 people others are 300. Personally, I don't like to be mic'd up through a PA. It's hard for me to trust sound guys I don't really know and I just prefer to be in control of my sound and volume. The 4 lets me do that in any venue I've played at so far. My heavy $@! tube amps are stacked in a back room, and so far this Mustang 4 has given me a lot more than I'd ever of thought a 47lb SS amp could do.

Banditt11, with either the III or the IV you need not use a mic if you have the input to the PA available. Your amps have XLR outputs that can go directly into the board. I do that at church and use the MIII as my monitor. Works!!
