Hi,
I have a mustang II and love the tones and sounds I can get especially when the volume is set low and played clean. However I notice if I add a bit of distortion and turn up the volume master to say 4-5 I can get a pronounced horrible vibration and buzz like something is shaking loose in the amp. It is consistent across my tele delux (humbuckers) my les paul and even worse in the semihollow artcore. I dont have the distortion cranked at all. Has anyone else seen this?

Thxs

ps I did a quick search but if anyone already covered this I missed it

I have a Mustang II. Can’t say I’ve noticed this. I’ve found the sweet spot to start around 4-5 on the master volume so I’m sure I’d notice if there was a major problem. The only issue I’ve run into is trying to run external Fuzz pedals where it would just be way too boomy and hard to control. This was with the Fuzz Face mini and a muff clone. I could dial in the preset to accommodate but then it wouldn’t sound the way I wanted it with the pedal out. So I exchanged the Fuzz Face for a Rat II which works much better.

Its hard to troubleshoot this type of problem without being there in person but maybe compare your preset with some downloaded from fuse. I know that the Tremolux preset from intheblues works great and I’ve added both the Fuzz Stomp and Greenbox to that and cranked the crap out of it with nothing but smiles.

Good luck

If there is a functional problem, you shouldn’t have a problem getting a replacement.

Does it still happen if you take the amp to another room and plug it in? Sometimes it's just something in the room ... like if there were a snare drum in the room you'd hear that 'buzzing'.

Try lightly tightening all of the screws on your amp. Lightly as they will strip pretty easy! My handle screws solved most of my buzzing sounds, one of these days I'll get inside and make sure the speaker hardware is good and tight as well. These are assembly line built so it doesn't surprise me one bit that a screw or two could be loose. I've been told my screws are loose too!!

OK so this one wins the genius of the year award!
I still like using my old bk butler tube works preamp, its a rack mount so I often just leave it sitting on top the fender amp. I took it off, moved the mustang to a different room and the problem disappeared. I set the preamp back on top and it reappeared!
That one preset must have caused the thing to oscillate and feed it back at just the right frequency cause the other presets wouldn't do it.
Anyway I am happy to say the problem was the user and not the amp.

ps
I still gotta down load that preset cause I am really curious to see how it sounds!

Great news :D

Glad it was something simple and not a functional problem. Enjoy the new amp.

intheblues has some good presets. The tremolux one works really well for me. I have about 4 presets based off that on my amp. One as is that i like for smelly blues tone and the others I added OD and Fuzz to and changed the modulation and reverb up a bit and they make for great lead tones. Especially when you get the master volume up between 4 and 5

have fun and welcome to the party

I had the same problem. It would buzz on the low C note 5th and 6th strings. I tightened all the screws, same problem. It would not buzz with the back panel off. The panel is made of thin MDF so I ended up gluing a brace (3/4 x 1 x 15 inches) on the inside of the back panel, horizontally in the middle. Problem fixed. Hope this doesn't void the warranty on my 3 week old amp.
