Hoping to find out if I can use this amp or if I need to buy one for a acoustic/electric guitar. Thanks Ed

IMO, yes. The studio preamp model works well with my wife's electro acoustic she plays folk music on. I use it with my Broadway and like how my classical repertoire sounds with it. My experience is with the IV V2, but the amp models are the same.

I have one preset reserved for an acoustic guitar which I use in performance quite a bit. It's based on the Studio preamp model with a compressor added to keep the volume more even while I'm playing, as well as a light reverb/delay to help with adding some warmth. I play a Martin acoustic, mostly finger-picked.

Thanks for the help! Great to know that I will not have to buy another amp. Ed

Mustang III is so usable that you can even use it as an engine for your car.

The MIII is not going to sound good as an acoustic amp. You need to have a more full-range setup with a tweeter. That's why they make acoustic amps (with tweeters).

Thanks for the update. I have a separate markbass tweeter that I use with my bass amp. I will try it with the mustang 3 when I get a acoustic electric guitar and let you know how it works. BTW the tweeter is $70 at (GC)

Markbass Tweeter = Henriksen Tweety. Great idea, not so great actually using it.
