I realize this is probably a dumb question but the Floor user manual states:

"Be sure to power off your amplifier (or PA) before powering down the Mustang Floor."

Why is this important? I play at church and they can't turn off the PA before I power off my Floor. What issue could this cause?

thanks

Are you plug directly in the church PA ?

IMO it is only if you don't want to ear some noise ( loud ) when Mustang Floor is shut off . If you use your own amp , forger church PA

In general, turn your (power) amp ON LAST and OFF FIRST to avoid any startup/switch-on noises from other devices in the chain from getting amplified and damaging something. Startup/switch-on noises can be particularly troublesome for high-frequency drivers.

Thanks for the response guys. I thought about the loud pop sound that could occur by unplugging or powering off the Floor prior to the PA amp being turned off but I wanted to make sure there wasn't something else I was missing that could damage either the PA or the Floor.

If you're using the FX insert loop on the Floor, you may also encounter another problem.

When powering off the Mustang Floor, the audio switching circuit in the FX loop no longer operates. This causes some of the signal from the return connector to be sent back out through the send connector. If you have some effects plugged into the loop, this will create a feedback loop.

In my setup, if I turn off the Floor first I get some really nasty squealing feedback. :?

Hi All,

As is suggested here by PajFender, "(power) amp ON LAST and OFF FIRST" is indeed the way to go. Users may experience a small audible "bump" when powering on/off the Fender® Mustang™ Floor. But it should not be anything significant.

In cases where it is connected to a larger scale house system, you will want to have the front of house engineer mute the input channel(s) for the Mustang Floor before you power it on/off. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,
