You should be able to install .NET 3.5 via Windows Update. Just run WU and choose "Custom Install". After it runs the scan, you should see "Software, Optional (X)" on the left side of the browser window, click on that and you should see it listed.

Dear Knowted,

Thanks for your inquiry. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your computers .NET framework. Windows XP is an old Operating System and although our support is limited we do offer some. I'm enclosing for you a link with .Net framework instructions. I hope they help and please let us know if we can assist further.

knowted, it's time to upgrade anyway ... Windows XP is out of support as of April 8th.

What is Windows XP end of support?

Microsoft has provided support for Windows XP for the past 12 years. But now the time has come for us, along with our hardware and software partners, to invest our resources toward supporting more recent technologies so that we can continue to deliver great new experiences.

As a result, after April 8, 2014, technical assistance for Windows XP will no longer be available, including automatic updates that help protect your PC. Microsoft will also stop providing Microsoft Security Essentials for download on Windows XP on this date. (If you already have Microsoft Security Essentials installed, you will continue to receive antimalware signature updates for a limited time, but this does not mean that your PC will be secure because Microsoft will no longer be providing security updates to help protect your PC.)

If you continue to use Windows XP after support ends, your computer will still work but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Also, as more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter greater numbers of apps and devices that do not work with Windows XP.

Not sure if you're just letting us know how it's going, or if you're asking for further help? If you do want further help, can you be more specific please?

For example, assuming you're following some instructions (eg as posted by Fender) a few replies ago), at what point do you get stuck? At what point does what you do, or what you see, differ from what the instructions say? Or is there some instruction that doesn't make sense to you, so you don't know what to do at that point?

Hi knowted,

We wanted to check in here and see if you were able to sort out the issue you were seeing with Fender® FUSE™? If so, great. If not, please feel free to contact us directly. And we will be happy to assist in any way we can. You may want to try installing the .Net Framework in a new Administrator level User Account on your XP machine in case the issue is related to permissions on your current User Account. Please see the attached link below to set up a new user account (XP account set up is similar to Vista & 7). And let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,
