is it still under warranty? I'd bring it for service instead of voiding the warranty by trying to work on it myself....

Not sure if this helps at all but you seem desperate...

I do not have a floor, but I do have an EXP-1 expression pedal. It was so loose when it arrived in the mail that the vibration from our drummers bass would cause the toe slip down. I found I could tighten it by 1) removing the right side hinge bolt cover (small silver disc with F on it). It just pulls off, and is held in by a rubber gasket, 2) tightening the exposed nut with a 10mm socket wrench.

I have no idea if this has any relevance to your problem.

When I received my mustang floor, it also had a loose expression pedal. I tightened the bolt on the right side and that helped a lot but I still can't get the pedal to stay completely heel down. It always moves forward slightly after I take my foot off.

How tight should that bolt be? I’m worried I may break something if I tighten it too much.

I've got the same problem too, with a brand new exp-1. Why can't you post an answer here, rather than having us contact you directly? I'm sure we are not the only ones with this problem.
The pedal is loose such that the weight of the pedal itself causes the toe to drop all the way down once the tipping point is past. It seems to me that one should be able to place the pedal in any intermediate position without it dropping toe down on its own. Please help.

Hi Guys,

So, the EXP-1 and the built in pedal on the Fender® Mustang™ Floor are pretty straight forward. They have a single bolt that adjusts the tension for the pedal. There is not really a 'correct' tension. It would be whatever tension works best for you and how the pedal feels in use.

In regard to the heel position and the pedal not staying in the lowest heel position, I am guessing that we are talking about the parameter setting (i.e. a Volume not staying quite at zero after returning to the heel position, etc.). Is that correct? If so, a re-calibration of the pedal might be helpful to correct the range of travel for the pedal and returning to zero. Please see the steps below to calibrate the EXP-1 or Mustang Floor pedals. And please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan

The EXP-1 expression pedal calibration procedure is as follows:

1. Press and hold UTIL while powering on, UTIL LED should light up for 1 second.
2. Move the expression pedal between the desired heel and toe endpoints to set the range.
3. Turn the encoder knob to the next Preset to complete the process.
