I could not afford the $500 Mustang IV, But always wanted a Stereo Chorus amp, so settled on the Mustang III V2, and already have the Super Champ x2 which is a Tube Amp,..So, Taking advantage of the Mustang's capabilities, And using the Super Champ as a "Slave" Amp,..I connected The mustang's LEFT Out to the Superchamp's Guitar In with a Audio Technica CP8201 Microphone Impedence Matching (Low to High) Transformer (XLR Female to 1/4 T/S Male)..at end of XLR mic cable,And it sounded Great!,For a short time, But I dont want to Overload or Underload the In or out of the two Amps for a long session...Is this set-up :? OK?

It's nice to know that this works well because it's another indication that the I/O on the m3v2 was well-designed by Fender (also nice to know that the AT transformer is a good match [pun intended!]). Off-hand I'd say that if you're not hearing/getting clipping on the Champ input, you're good---and don't forget that the overall XLR output level is adjustable in a menu option.

But . . . Would you have to do the same thing with the other channel and run it back into the Efx/line input to have discreet right and left?

No reason it shouldn't work, AFAICT.

I've toyed with the idea of upgrading to a MIII v2, and repurposing my MIII v1 in this way, via the effects return.

For extra credit, I'd take the other (right) XLR output and similarly feed it back to the MIII v2's own effects return, to truly separate/partition the stereo signal between the two.

But then I realize I don't really have room for another amplifier (wife would likely toss us all out), and that I should probably pick up a guitar and practice some more instead, if I really wanted to sound better...

Thank You, And I was thinking of just running the other line out to another, old solid state (DOD Grind IT!) 15 watt amp, then it would be discreet L/R with the Mustang as Center/Bass (Mono)..Kind of a poor-man's 2.1 surround,But I have to be Real Low volume with it all because,I'm in an apartment and have to watch the volume!..Which is one reason I got the Mustang for the Headphone/Speaker mute feature,And the Super Champ of course has no headphone jack..Someday will test this set-up louder where I can Turn them all up louder..(My test was done at VERY LOW Volume on both amps for about 15 mins.)
