So my fender mustang III v.2 recently started making a very loud and annoying fizzy sound, although if I rotate my guitar away from the amp, the fizz goes away(for the most part). This only occurs on high distortion settings. I have also noticed that when I turn on my tv or some other object using electricity from an outlet, the fizz gets worse. I was reading some different forums about this which said that fender released an update for fuse to remove the fizz, but as far as I know my amp is updated to date. Are there any solutions to fixing this?

Another strange thing to add is that whenever I am practicing with my band in his garages, there is no fizz, it only really happens in my room when I'm playing

since you have a v2 amp, I can assure you it is not the 'fizz' you are reading about from the v1 amps.

Do you have another guitar and wire you can try it with?

EDIT:

Sounds like either interference or a problem with the power. The 'fizz' you refer to was a hardware problem, and would follow you to wherever you plug it in. And again, only present on v1 amps.

Light dimmer switch half on?
Even full-on they can cause buzz. Fluorescent lighting within a few metres?
Anything like that can cause buzz on poorly shielded gear - might be the guitar and cable, not the amp.

I just did a few tests. Here's what I found:
I just tried two different cables as well as both of my guitars and there was fizz. I also tried my old line six amp. The fizz was not as loud, but it was still there. My brother turned on the tv and started playing xbox. The fizz immediately got louder. I also recorded something into GarageBand using my USB cable, and while there was fizz coming out of the amp, there was none when I listened to the recording on GarageBand. Also when I listened through headphones, there was no fizz. I also recently moved, and I recall there being fizz at my old house, but it was not as bad as it is now at my new house. Do u guys have any thoughts?

It's electrical interference type stuff... not the amp. Single coils pick it up... some noise can come in thru the plug as well....
Just wait till you have that bar or club gig where your amp's near the neon beer signs...
Drive you friggin nuts... if you're lucky... the bar/club manager won't go into conniptions when you ask them to unplug it...

Yes, please stop saying 'fizz' - it's only going to confuse the issue!

It's some kind of interference/grounding/power issue. Your amp is v2 so please stop calling it 'fizz'.

Note you said the Line 6 amp did the same thing:

so it has nothing to do with the Mustang amp.

Do you have a battery backup (UPS) you can connect it to? That would rule out the power issues at least.

This. thank you, strings. terrible post title.

I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THE OP THAT HIS MUSTANG III V2 HAS ZERO "FIZZ" WHATSOEVER and he has a problem with his guitar shielding (static) and/or having a cell phone near the amp or other similar interference.

Guarantee. The MIII v2 is STONE COLD SILENT when it should be.

For that matter, I never had any fizz or any other problem with my v1 M4 either, bought in mid 2011 and still going strong.

This actually comes from the Guitar-pickups and then in to the amp.

If I stand to close to my computer and point my pickups towards the computer it picks up interferance. If I move away from the computer, it dissapears.

Hummmmmmm I wonder what the problem fizzzzz. Sorry.

I am not an electrical engineer but I would bet its single coil hum or standard house hold interference.

Kdogex: fizz and buzz are two very different things. I'd place a substantial bet that you have buzz, as others have noted.

your comment about the xbox got my attention. turn off all things that use wi-fi and or cell-phones and try again your amp, if noise goes away just separate the wi-fi devices from the amp

Hey, kdog, I had a buzzing issue, as well. Turned out the receptacle my amp was plugged into was reversed. Hot was on the left, neutral on the right. I switched them. I also 'self grounded' all my receptacles. with a jumper from ground to neutral, as my house was built in 1957, and there is no ground conductor in the walls. It really helped.

Today I practiced in two different rooms. First phisical set the amp, guitar & PC cords were all "neatly" laid out so they weren't near anything else. Later in the day I relocated to more cramped quarters with additional electronic devices. Cords cables wires were a hot mess of an octopus. First set up only single coil hum. Second there was a clear background noise.

Yup the amp will amplify anything it picks up.
