I think as a gag someone should rehouse the guts of a Fender Mustang III into the chassis of a Deluxe. They could even go as far as having the tubes just light up but that is all… no functionality whatsoever. Then it would be like that Folger’s commercial… you know, the one where they secretly replaced those peoples coffee.

I guess you'd just have to be careful not to knock out that little shiny silver part from the other thread.

You need a Mustang Mini. In the Fender video for theMini the guy is playing at his desk, gets a call that he is annoying his co-workers so he gets out his headphones and keeps playing.

How can we get jobs like that?

My Mustang V v.2 looks good as it is. It certainly doesnt look like a 300€ amp-head :) (I mean come on, it is even cheaper than the Orange Dark Terror)..

Btw, I think the Dark Terror have become discontinued :( It is one of those amps I have looked at but never bought, now it is too late.

Great idea Archtop.

I actually had a job like that LOL

Worked at an Audio post house in upper Manhattan where the main hub was way downtown. They ended up doing a series of layoffs and the GM at my location fell victim. So the lunatics were running the asylum at my location. So what did I do? Brought in my guitar and set myself up with a little jam station in the techshop. Before long, we had a little band going and recorded a couple tunes. It was great fun. A little bit of drama as we started to get into it and take it seriously but had a blast. Unfortunately all good things come to an end and I got offered a much better gig at a Network so having a family to support, I had to take it.

Here’s one of the fruits of those good times.

Recorded the guitars into my work computer with a Digi 001. I used a GT6 for the amp sims, boy do I seriously wish I had the mustang at that time no doubt. I did background vocals, the guy doing the keys also did the main vocals. We were lucky enough to be able to use the voice over booths to get decent vocal records but otherwise pretty modest set up to say the least.

Hope you enjoy it. Our intention was to keep it humorous, intentionally cheesy and cliché.

As far as my original post is concerned… I didn’t mean to offend anyone… that was just a joke derived from all the threads where tube folks and modeling folks go at it. I really don’t care either way… if I sounds good and I can afford it its for me.

I like the idea of the blind test.

I have a bad case of vertigo. I can't practice (much). Very frustrated. I am in bed while my guitar gently weeps. I would love to be able to have a guitar at work! But my office is too formal. I do obsess about learning how to play better. I was thinking if could have a set up at work what kind of guitar could I use.... A mustang mini would be sweet!!
