Well... I find I have to turn my knob too many twists when making adjustments.
:?
Ok.. enough jokes.. the amp knobs turn 1:1 - so I twist the knob and level matches on LED.
But the big master controller I have to turn 3 or 4 four full turns to go from maximum of a value to minimum of value.
Is this normal Doctor?

a) It seems too much twisting to get values how you want
b) I'm concerned it's going to wear out the knob mechanism much faster than need be

do you mean the Master volume, or the jog wheel? I have a v1 amp, but my knobs seem fine, never noticed anything.

Yes I guess it's the jog wheel - the main one you push in to edit things.
Maybe I need to update firmware...

No, it is normal... and a bit aggravating!
But on the Floor model, that is how it works anyway...
If you turn it quickly it helps, but if your are slowly turning the jog wheel it feels like it takes an eternity to make large adjustments.

I guess DATA WHEEL is the official name for it (per the Advanced Manual).

I can say it does feel a little 'wonky' and I figured if something was going to go wrong with this amp, that would be a contender. But so far it's holding up. And I guess it takes a little more rotation to make a change. But the Jog/Data Wheel on my recording console (Fostex FD-8) feel similar and it has held up over the years. I think it'll probably be ok for the life of this particular amp.

I've been working the knob on my v1 M4 since mid 2011 and nothing has come of it so far.

one thing I love is the new sensitivity on the v2s. never noticed until I got a v2, but now it's annoying as hell to adjust the v1 as it takes 3 zillion turns to move the setting 1 millimeter.

If you can use funder fuse for setting up the peremeters. I only use the data wheel for miner adjustments.

ah yes - turning it really fast does accelerate the change - just needs a grip like trying to spin a pool ball. Should go on the firmware upgrade list.
