Sometimes you're just too clumsy... I bought a MIII and pullet out the amp from the combo to see if it could fit into my rack, which it did. But when I was going to get my tools I slipped and knocked of a circuit from the PCB.
Now I need a new circuit (because it lost a leg) and wonder where and how to get hold of one.

It looks like this and has the following printed on it:

Oooooh...bad luck for sure. I'm not seeing this treated as a warranty issue

The picture doesn't show any detail of the part...too small and glare is making it impossible to read numbers on the top. Metal can? How many leads? It could be a hybrid circuit package, crystal, etc. Too hard to tell for now.

Perhaps if you could post a better picture that shows any numbers or ID marks. The number you posted below doesn't match any obvious part...it could be a date code, serial number, or a proprietary part number. You could try removing leading/trailing characters to see if you can match a base part number without pre/suffix, but it isn't a lot to go on.

With better info...someone may be able to assist...

Cheers.

That number looks a bit like a 'surface mount capacitor' number
But the object doesn't look like a sm capacitor - not to my knowledge -but I'm no expert.

I'm not home yet, so I cant post pictures.

But, it's
* a metal casing with two legs.
* It was mounted on the circuit with the computer/digital-parts,
* there were two similar components on the PCB. One with an ypsilon Y1 marked on the PCP next to it, and Y2 marked next to where my broken cirkuit sat (if this info helps).

The yellow oval shows the similar part.
The red oval shows where the place for the damaged circuit.

what you got there is a quartz crystal, and it will probably be difficult to get a replacement. Any chances resoldering the one you have? chances are you can add two extension wires and resolder it.

if not, try to google around where to buy one of those, of the right frequency

Warranty is now void anyway:

Yep..."Y" parts are crystals and the better pictures confirm. You may be able to solder it back in place since we no longer care if it looks perfect. How much of the broken lead is still accessible?

Just try not to damage other nearby parts and be careful to secure it to the board - if there is extra wire length you don't want it flopping around. Hot glue goes a long way...better than duct tape here.

It looks to be a surface mount device like these:

http://www.kingfaii.com/pdf/xtal_smd_49s.pdf

If there is enough of the PCB solder pad sticking out and you have a soldering iron with a sharp flat tip you may be able to place the component on the pads and get just enough of the residual solder to reflow and tack the crystal back on the board.

I reckon you should not try to resolder surface mount components.
I've done a lot of soldering in my time, building stuff.
I tried to repair my old Zoom digital fx pedal and found surface mounts to be impossible.
Putting some wires on will be much easier - but still not that easy.

(I know some of you guys are probably real experts and know how to do it)

if you can solder extension "legs" to the crystal it is totally doable.
Just make sure you use a very pointy and clean iron to do it and it should be pretty easy. Ideally get an alligator holder for the board and the component to avoid the shaky-hand dance of the component.

the chances of getting the same exact crystal are slim IMO, so I think it's worth the shot.

What a great forum! :D Thanks to you all!

Yes, my initial thought was to solder extensions to the crystal, hence the white wire on the remaining leg. But as you can imagine from the picture,.. well I have made some attempts
