Anyone know what the "LOCUT" knob does on the Ranger Boost pedal?

Dear Fender: It sure would be nice to have a quick guide to all the adjustments on all the pedals, and all the advanced amp setting...

I figured that lo cut cuts bass.. but what in fact really is a 'ranger boost'?
A pitch based overdrive?

Dallas Rangemaster Booster I believe

I found it works pretty good with the vox and plexi. I drop the high down almost all the way though on the stomp. And adjust the locut to not cut so much lows out, then goose the highs back up until I find the sweet spot.

So do you think 0 position is no bass cut and the 10 position is maximum bass cut? I am having a hard time hearing any difference.

I believe that the “Locut” knob controls the cutoff frequency and is not a level so the higher it is, the higher the cutoff frequency and the less low end. Its been about a week since I created my last preset using the Ranger which was with the Plexi but by looking at the preset on my laptop, I have the locut set to 0.39%. I’m pretty sure I backed that way down to let more of the lower frequencies through, then increased the high knob to add definition. I do that with the Black Box stomp and my Rat pedal. Turn the filter knob all the way clockwise then slowly counterclockwise til I hit the spot. Works well for me.

Anyway, I hope that helps. I agree, a more in depth manual would be huge, that and more logical ballistics on the parameters. If it is controlling the cutoff frequency, then it should be in Hz in my opinion.

I can post my preset if you like. Its kind of a work in progress. I’m trying for that 70s woody marshall plexi sound but I don’t think its there yet.

Thanks - your explanation seems right on. With a little more attention I can now hear the difference (or at least I think I do...)

Indeed

And Fuzz with that Ranger would probably be pretty sexy too.
