I have a question about the Mustang Floor and it looks like you are the people to ask:

When recording USB can you set the Floor as your soundcard (input and output)? I know the Mustang amps only send to the computer forcing you to use something else to monitor but this isn't specifically address in the Floor's manual.

I'm looking to get one and I hope it can do both because I don't want to deal with latency issues. Thanks in advance!

I don't think so.

I do not recall reading anywhere in the basic nor advance manual for the MF that this was possible.

When (though brief) times I had used the MF to record it was used as output only.

As far as I know, there is always going to be latency issues. Unless...
You have a very fast PC? (I don't haha)
Which, will make the latency though little but still present.

Cannot do audio in on MF.
Only out.

G-DEC series allows for what you are describing though.

The Mustang Floor is an effects processor, not an amp / monitor. Why would you want to send the (recorded) sound output back to an effects processor? Surely you want the sound output to go back to something with speakers - an amp or a monitor? Presumably you're using the M-Floor on the input path, to record the sound it has processed?

MF has a headphone jack.

Fishing here, but, IF it could be done (it can't, afaik), theoretically, one could then use the headphone jack to monitor both MF signal and signal coming back via USB.

That... would be neat. W/out latency. Which, I can't seem to get away from.

Thanks Wulf, I was afraid of that. I may just get a proper interface and get the Floor anyway.

Scott, most modern processors (line 6/Boss/Digitech etc) can operate as an external soundcard via USB. You can hear your guitar and computer through the units headphone out, allowing near zero latency monitoring while recording.

Ahh, now I understand what you want to do. No, the Mustang Floor doesn't do this.

You're welcome jegtar.

The MF (Mustang Floor) does have an Aux in. So, in theory, you could route an analog signal BACK into the AUX IN via 1/8" jack. In my case, being I run my MF into a Multimix8 USB FX mixer, then, USB into my PC for recording, I could then, in theory, have 2 tracks at the same time with no latency.

There are workarounds with this... for example, I could transfer the files to my iPad and use it, running 1/8" into the AUX input on the MF. Or, run it into a diff channel on the mixer. Or...
Route the entire MF signal into the USB Mixer and hit "record".
Repeat this process.

I don't think this is what you're wanting to do. Just throwing this out there.

Regarding the MF, I have stated many times how thrilled I am with it.
ESPECIALLY for the $ (it's inexpensive, not "cheap")!
I imagine that really the only thing One may not be able to pull out of it would be a very heavy like death metal(ish) type of distortion.
