Just ordered a Mustang Mini (Used) from Guitar Center. Should have for next weekend. Looking forward to having something portable for the both the guitar and as a speaker system for the iPod.

Got it for half the street price of a new one.

Will check in with an update on how it works out.

Don't know, but would there be any issues getting Fuse software since already registered? It is the flexibilty of setting and storing so many different presets that sound good that leaves the others in the dust. I love my Mini, take it to beach nearly every day, except with acoustic electric then I use Yamaha THR 10 (nice sound but not loud and does have effects knobs that lack gradations: try dialing in just a little chorus! ). I am going to get a Passport mini on next trip to USA because Fuse with it has acoustic guitar settings, something that is hard to do with Mustangs.

Enjoy! I am pleased as punch with my Passport Mini... the sound is fantastic for such a tiny amp! Went the Passport route instead of Mustang to get acoustic sounds as well as electric and also for the microphone input.

The Mustang Mini made it, at last, today. As posted above, I got this used from GC. The amp itself is in very good. It immediately synched up with Fuse on the laptop I use for my MIV V2. I was immediately prompted that a software update was available and it took the update no trouble.

I see what Tiger J meant by the Passport Mini having a better acoustic tone. All of the amp models are traditional rock amps; does not have the Studio Preamp that the M IV V2 has (which I use a lot.)

I was able to cleanup the 65 Deluxe and the 57 Champ pretty nicely with just enough hair for interest.

Overall, a great little package and should be portable enough to get out and have some fun with.

How well do these work as a mp3 speaker?

hmm Could be a good excuse for an additional amp.

"How well do these work as a mp3 speaker?"

Depends on how picky your ear is.

The speaker is not really designed for hi-fi so it's not going to sound as good as if you had the mp3 player pumped through a dock with a full range speaker compliment.

But but, in a pinch... it's ok.

+1

Fine for jamming or working out licks with. It will not replace my Samsung 5.1 system for enjoying mp3's.
