I too am looking at the mustang III and IV right now...I bought a Floor about a month ago but I sent it back. It's a great little piece of equipment, but just not what I needed. So I returned it and I am selling my Frontman 25R to a friend. I played a Mustang IV at Guitar Center and I fell in love. It just is so warm and it actually pushes air at you and I think it could be my main amp for many years to come. I am gonna go today after work and play with it again, and hopefully a III (they were out of stock last time I was there). If I am happy with a III, I would probably get one - I too have the wife factor going on. I love the v2 additions as well, especially the greenbox, booster and Orange model.

Hi All,

This seems like a lively discussion on the features and differences between the Fender® Mustang™ III and IV amplifiers. Please be sure and let us know if we can offer any information or assistance to anyone here.

Best Regards,

I really think you made the right choice with the III rather than the IV in your case. I play a IV, but that's because it's primarily a stage amp. I don't see that you lose anything getting the III for your purposes. And even if you did decide to start using it as a stage amp, I doubt you'd miss much. Our other guitar player in the band will soon be going from his Fender SuperSonic to the Mustang III as his stage amp. In his case it's because he's tired of lugging around heavy amps and wants something lighter that still has the punch.
