Can you suggest the right connections when using the Zoom G5 or comparable floorboard with the Mustang 1 ver2?

To answer this

with MI and MII you have to just go right from FX unit out to Mustang input if you want to have the option to use any FX from the Mustang. Otherwise aux in.

If you want to use the Mustang's amp models and some Mustang effects but also use your ZOOM as a stompbox, you should switch your ZOOM to amp models off or effects only mode (however you do that) and plug the ZOOM in directly thru the guitar input. Then select the Mustang Supersonic model and add the reverd or whatnot. No idea how the ZOOM will sound running direct - sometimes when you run DSP thru another DSP it really just sounds like crap!

@ captainc

I thought the "Aux In" (mini 1/8") was only for an ipod or similar music player??

How about creating a "Studio Pre-Amp" preset to fix the "sounds like crap" DSP through DSP?

you can plug anything into the aux in... it just bypasses all the fx and amp modeling.

I have the zoom g3. I have used it in the loop of the M-Floor and it sounds pretty good!
I did not however, use any amp modeling or stomp boxes from the zoom... just modulation and delay.

The aux jack is 1/8". That's normally used for an ipod or something. Mustang 1 only has an input and foot-switch jacks.

If you use the aux in, you'd have to get a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter

Sounds like what you really need is to upgrade your amp to one that is designed to be used with external effects and whatnot and has an effects loop. The Mustang I really is an entry level practice amp... get a MIII! Use the MI as a bedroom practice amp.

I have a zoom ms50g that i use in front of a mI for od stomps and autowah and i am really happy with it.

You can use also chorus and delays from your zoom for clean sound but put a modulation in front of an overdrive channel will not get a very clean result.

Also zoom amp emulation is really 2 steps behind so switch off and forget about it without thinking about it twice!
