I got my serials already but everything is just so complicated and I am having problems activating Amplitube, right now it just says that the program is going to expire soon.

Thanks.

Is it just me who thinks the above is too complex, to the point that many will probably say "sod it"?
It doesn't have to be that complicated, really. Sure following the instructions is doable, but honestly, who likes jumping through hoops?

No. So much of this forum is devoted to just getting Fuse or the third party bundled (these were not free, they were bundled and support should come with the bundled packages) software packages installed and functioning. Perhaps going back CD-ROM would minimize installation problems, but way too much time is spent getting this stuff to work and I imagine many musicians just get frustrated and return the amps because of this very issue.

it would only minimize download problems. Put the same program on the CD instead of downloading it to your desktop and it's going to do all the same things when you try to install it, right?

I think what you have here is a little generation gap thing ... these amps are made using today's technology and you have a lot of older players buying them because they like what these amps can do and how they sound, but then they don't want to invest the time in learning to use the software or even install it.

I don't think so, sonny. We oldtimers were using EDLIN AUTOEXEC.BAT and inserting and troubleshooting commands like
SET BLASTER=A220 I3 D1 T2 P330 H5

But, we have also used installers that worked seamlessly, perhaps asking for ONE serial number, which was bundled with what we bought. We know it's doable.

And we have produced enough crap over the years to recognize it when we see it.

Believe me, I spent countless hours in following that instruction to no avail. I believe in IK multimedia they have to let you download software apart form the program itself which is Amplitube. Now, this software will be the one who's gonna verify if you have the legit copy of the software and that is the place you will put the serial, but really I dont know. Maybe I am the problem. :(

Oh my bad, I didn't realize you and every other member of an unnamed age range had edited a simple text file. Now THAT's tech saavy! :D

OK, so the next step is to reach out to IK Multimedia and ask them.

Contact Info:

http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/

They have a forum too, might help to search the forum and/or talk to some users:

When you have to come up with the values that goes into those strings, because they differ between each PC and card, yes, it is rather tech savvy, in a way that the youth today never had to deal with.
Most young ones today probably haven't the foggiest idea what interrupt lanes and interrupt queue numbers are, never mind how to troubleshoot and resolve IRQ problems and address overlaps. They rely on software doing all low-level work, hiding what actually goes on.

I am fairly certain most youths have no idea how the DRM for Amplitube works, and all they are good at are following instructions without asking questions.

this is simply not true. Those who follow certification paths will learn this basic stuff, plus a whole lot more.
