I've had my Mustang IV for about 5 months now, but I'm not new to modeling amps. Up to this point I've always crafted different presets for the style of song I might be playing. One problem with that approach is that often a song may use two different presets (one for verse, one for chorus). In some cases the amp models as well as the EQ and effects change.

But I was recently watching some YouTube videos where a guy set up his presets based on different amp model and and their clean tones, then uses his buttons to turn on and off effects on that preset. In many ways it seems simpler because that's how we did things prior to modeling, but I'm curious how others approach the setups of their presets for gigs.

What have been doing is this:
Have 00 thru 06 to the amp models I like with appropriate gain, tone tweaks in place.
Use the 2 button foot switch to toggle up or down thru the presets. Use the 4 button foot switch on "mode 3" where you can engage or disengage effects (delay, stomps, modulation, blah... blah...).

For me, this is by far the easiest and most practical way to use this amplifier. Have presets I use on a good rhythm volume... use the stomps (compression, fuzz, overdrive etc...) to boost and/or add grit/dirt for leads.
Have used stomp boxes since forever ago and have always used Tube Amps before. This approach works best for me because it's similar to having a pedalboard to do the same basic things I'm getting from the Mustang with the foot switches.

Also, the last several presets out of the 100 are the basic amp models with no effects added. So you can use those presets and add effects thru your MS4 footswitch in live situations.

Is there some sort of manual to use the 4 button switch? I got the 4 button last week but have no idea how to use it
