Not sure how I found this but..

hold down the EXIT button and turn the VOLUME dial up - not 'master', not that dial, the 'volume' one - Nothing will change on the amp to show that you've made a change, but the recording level will be higher. I was having trouble getting my guitar to record at a decent level in Mixcraft 5 and this totally worked/fixed it. Went from being too quiet to actually being able to 'clip' the track with too much volume input. Try it, see if it works. I'm using a mustang III v1.0 with firmware v1.10 .

Further, I think it might be a 'master volume set' i.e. a way to equalise the volume levels of different presets so that they're all the same level and you don't have to turn the master volume dial up/down to get the db output to be the same across your presets.

If this works, Fender, Sticky?

yep, the question keeps coming up. Probably should be a sticky thread about it at this point.

regarding the USB gain, it is part of FUSE advanced amp settings. Using fuse you don't have to guess the level as you can see it on the screen.

The way to equalize the volume across presets is to use the volume control on the amp, that is what this control is exactly for. The volume setting gets saved with the preset. So for example your typical twin 65 preset will have a "volume" setting of 10, while your overdriven metal 2000 run-for-cover preset will have a "volume" setting of 2, and when you change from one to the other both will sound at the same perceived volume independently of the master volume setting.
