I have a Mustang II v2 and have changed some of my presets without issue. However tonight I wanted to add a "creedence clearwater revival have you ever seen the rain" preset and fuse won't allow it.

I d'loaded the CCR preset and was able to load it and play it on the amp. I then right clicked and got the save to amp option. Clicked that and got the popup to tell fuse where to save the preset to the amp and here is where the problem occurred. In the popup box I can select where I want to save the preset but the "ok" button is greyed out. My only working options on the popup box are "cancel" or "x" to close the box.

Other presets in my list will save without issue.

One thought I had was maybe it doesn't like the file name since it is so long? I tried renaming the file in the fuse preset folder and then restarting fuse. The file name was changed but the file still showed in fuse with the long name? I deleted the file, redownloaded it to desktop, renamed it there, and then moved it into the fuse preset folder. Restarted fuse and yeah, the CCR preset still showed up in the menu with the original long name????

Am I missing something easy here?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

I think this happened to me back in July. If I recall correctly, I did a "save as' from the fuse file menu to force it to make a duplicate through fuse and altered the name. Then loaded the duplicate and saved it to my amp.

Worth a shot.

Good luck

If you open the preset in a plain text editor (NOTEPAD.EXE), you'll see that is an XML file. Scroll near the bottom of the file and you will see a line similar to the following:

Code:
<Info name="'57 DLX Vibratone" author="p90sdude" rating="0" genre1="-1"...

The info between the quotes after 'name=' is the name that is displayed in FUSE. Changing the file name does not change this. However, if you save the file in FUSE, it will change the file name to reflect that info.

Tip: Keep your preset names to less than 18 characters.

I don't know if that has anything to do with your problem at hand tho...

EDIT: Changed '25 charters' to '18 characters'.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try the "save as" and see if it works. Thanks also for the info on the xml file.
