Hi,
Over the last couple of days I have noticed a high pitched squeal coming from my Mustang III V2. The squeal gets louder as I turn the volume up. I have tried using different guitars, cables and power cables to the amp to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks for any help and suggestions that anyone can give.

Do you know what feedback is?
It's possible this is not feedback but it seems to be.

Does it get louder as you get the guitar close to the amp ?
And can you control it a bit by moving the angle of the guitar ?
If so then you really need to read up your rock history under > Hendrix J (et al) > feedback

To stop it, turn volume down and/or move away from the amp.
Some presets go into feedback really easily - yay.

Thanks for your reply. It's not feedback, I have stood around 10 feet from the amp and I can still hear the squeal. I also plugged in a guitar cable to the amp but not the guitar, touched the tip of the cable and the squeal was just as prominent.

Well I did a factory restore and also updated the firmware, but the high pitch noise is still there and gets worse as the volume is turned up...I am stumped as to what else I could try !!!
Just a thought, could a grounding problem in the house cause this?

Today I re calibrated the EXP-1 expression pedal and 'bingo', the strange sound has gone. Don't know why this worked but hey I'm a happy man now.

 OK for future reference, part of troubleshooting would have been to remove all non-essential stuff. No pedal boards, no expression pedals, no USB connection, no AUX, just a guitar plugged into the input with a cable.

Ok. I wasn't going to bother with this but I think I better for anyone else who has this problem, and to stop anyone else from thinking I am stupid.
The VERY FIRST thing I did was to unplug ALL pedals including the EXP-1. This made no difference. When I re calibrated the EXP-1 the noise went away, so I can only think that the calibration process affects the pedal AND the amp hence the problem fix.
Hope this is clear enough, and thanks for your comments.

To the contrary: since you purchased a M3v2, I assumed an elevated degree of intelligence!
