I have had my Mustang 3 V2 for a few days. I have had it on 2 or 3 for master volume. I tried it on about 6 today and could smell a burning smell or a speaker smell.

Is that a normal speaker breaking in smell?

If it is new, take it back for a replacement. The smell is not normal.

A volume of 6 is pretty loud on a MIII. Sometimes electronics will give off a weird smell the first time you run them hot. It could be manufacturing residue or dust but I've seen (smelled) it happen before.

What I would suggest is that you play (or just use the aux input with a music source) the amp loud for 5 - 10 minutes. If the smell doesn't go away then shut it down and return it.

I ran the M3 V2 pretty high, around 6. I also smelled something warming up. That was at the end of August 2013. I think it has to be a normal thing. I usually run it at 3 and shes real nice! Never smelled anything after that.

I used it at a jam Friday night and had it on about 4. It never made the smell..and the other jammers loved the amp and they all used it too.. it must be a normal break in thing.
I will keep an eye (a nose) on it though

I've run mine gigging and at practice at 4 plus and minus right out of the box and had no smells at all.
