Sorry if this has been posted and answered before.

I'm curious if anyone has a handle on the original sounds or recordings that lead to the various presets. Some are obvious, of course. #10 "Derek Champs" is Derek and the Dominos played through the '57 Champ. And #20 "Johnny Marr Tremolo" is self-explanatory.

But what about #28 "Aussie Rock or #19 "Angry Rodent"? Not to mention the other 96.

If you know a few, or even if you think you know, please post.

I'll collect the results and build a spreadsheet and post it, if there is interest.

I believe that's AC/DC

It's come up a few times; I tried digging for one of the threads I remembered but couldn't find it. I did find this, posted by forum user 'rullyrulez'. It displays a little small, so you might have to change your Zoom settings in your browser to see the text:

I looked up the list on photobucket and, as you say, it's a little small. However, by looking at the enlarged image and dropping it into Photoshop I was able to zoom in further and read the pixelated text.

It looks like he made a serious effort, and demonstrates the difficulty of the problem. That is, sometimes it appears that the "source" is a specific band, and sometimes it's just a genre (e.g. surf sound).

On the plus side, it's nice to know I'm not alone in my curiosity.

Thanks for the lead.

Hi JDinOR

Yes some time ago I was interested in the same question. And you could also consider it as a challenging game. I tried but I am not sure if I succeeded at all. I posted the results but to be honest ...no response, additions or improvements so far, so I didnot continue with this. Maybe you have some ideas.

Probably Boomtown Rats, although it could be a nod to the Pro Co RAT pedal, even if it sounds nothing at all like it.

I must be the oldest guy in the room. Angry Rodent sounds like Ratt.

The earlier mentioned Boomtown Rats precede Ratt, so no.

But doing a quick google shows that "angry rodent" refers to Avril Lavigne. It doesn't make much sense to me, given what the preset sounds like, but she is a Fender artist...

Some may say Avril has a rodent sound too

That is some small type on the photobucket list. Maybe I am the oldest

I just got a M3 on Friday past and am searching for the non-Fender amps the models where based on. Got a kick out of Brit Colour... Spelling of Colour.
