coming out with a 4 button foot-switch like the big brothers iii / iv have ? I'd love to have both these small AMPs with a cool 4 button multi-select-foot-switch :D I was hoping the v.2's would have adapted this somewhat *important* feature. I know the i / ii, they're just made for practice - but some ppl are jamming out with them : )

I doubt it. Including a 4-button switch would blow the profit margin on the smaller Mustangs.

True enough. The two button will have to suffice.

Nice that you have one for your G-DEC, though : )

Yes, I love it! But, make no mistake... I paid for it separately! I am just glad that the Mustang 4-button switch came free with my Mustang V.

I reckon a lot of MII owners would a pay for a 4 button switch - anything over the single button - I'd pay for an LED screen too.
But I guess the price difference between M II and M III is not so great, so a fancy new M II would be near M III cost - though I really don't need 100 watts and a big box.

I'm MII V2 user, and I agree!

Haven't heard a peep about the Mustang line out of Winter NAMM 2014 yet... haven't heard anything exciting at all from Fender out of Winter NAMM 2014 yet except for maybe the Squier Bass VI for those that want a baritone guitar but don't want to pay MIA price for a MIM Pawn Shop Bass VI. And that is only exciting to the handful of folks who can really use a baritone guitar!

My guess is that there won't be a V.3. I could be wrong, but the FUSE software is based on Silverlight, which now has been abandoned by Microsoft, and is inherently incompatible with newer high-DPI devices.
It probably makes more sense to make a new product with a new API and new software.

I think you are right. I would venture a bet that the next line of Fender modeling amps will feature Bluetooth connectivity and be designed around an Android and iOS music application accessible on tablets and iPads and maybe even some smartphones. They might even still call them "Mustang" but they will probably not run on FUSE.

When it comes to mobile devices, Fender has so far stuck to Apple and iOS only, despite Android outselling iOS five to one for a couple of years now. My guess is that the decision makers all have iPhones/iPads, and mistakenly think they're representative.

Wireless control of amps seems logical, but I see pitfalls too. How will they deal with a few thousand pairing requests from the audience? When will the first concert get hacked or DoSsed?
Programmable NFC seems safer than BT.

Excellent. Good choice.

I think the problem with the over-technologicalization of amps is that they will become flash-in-the-pan products that are rendered completely useless when the cell phones, computers etc. they interact with are replaced by new technology. Let's face it, an amp or guitar that is designed to work with an iPhone or an iPad is not going to be desirable if even usable 25 years from now... unlike all of the classic amps, guitars and whatnot that are still highly desirable today. Musical instruments at least at one point in time were built and designed to last a lifetime... maybe even multiple generations of lives. Now it seems that they are steering in the direction of electronics consumables, which barely last a year before obsolescence nowadays!
