Hi Guys

This is my first post in the forum and I've almost got my head around my new Mustang III (v2) amp, but just need some help with a couple of things, which I cannot find the solution to in this forum.

I have the 2 and 4 switch pedals and the EXP-1 and I can assign presets to the 4 switch pedal QA1 QA2 QA3 with out any problem, but I'm wanting to have preset 77 on QA1 (for example) but the option to turn a "wah" effect on/off via the foot switch, but patch 77 does not have mod or stomp available to add a wah (already taken my overdrive and sine chorus and it seems I would have to lose an effect to have the wah as well. Is there any way around this because I really like the sound of patch 77 but would like "wah" accessible over this patch at the touch of a button for live performance? I could save a new preset and lose an effect but I don't want to lose any of the default presets just yet and I would have thought adding a "wah" effect to any patch would be an easy thing or are you limited by one mod and one stomp per preset?

Also, I can assign the EXP-1 to any parameter for "wah" effect but can anyone advise what is the most common parameter to use for a foot pedal wah and what gives the best results? Finally, when you save a parameter for the EXP-1 (I do this via the amp) does it save the pedal setting just for that patch and then you can do a different setting for each patch?

Hope the above makes sense! :)

Many thanks
Hayz

you can only have one of each category of effect, a stomp, a mod, a delay, and a reverb, if you want wah you would have to lose the overdrive, your only other option would be to use an actual wah pedal,

Thanks for the reply Kreature. I feared that would be the case. It seems such a simple feature lacking, is there any way around this or is it likely to change or be added as a feature in future? I mean can anyone suggest how to get the same sound as preset 77, but have a wah on there to switch on / off without having to buy a separate wah?

Isn't wah available in two places on V2 amps?
Can't you replace that chorus with a bit of reverb and maybe tape delay, freeing up mod slot for wah?
Or buy an external compresser -cheaper than a wah!

I use an external wah anyway but I have an MII so no EXP1

wah is available as a stomp effect but also as a modulation effect. Configure it under whichever category is not used in your preset.

Thanks Jedi, but the issue was they were both being used my needed effects. The idea above about using tape delay instead of the sine chorus worked a treat and this freed up the mod for wah!

Cheers

this must be only true for the V2 amps, Sorry if I misinformed anybody, I have only seen Mustangs wah under stomp on my Mustang 5 V1 amp, I have never used the wah on the Mustang because I do not have the EXP-1,. without it the built in wah would be useless, I do have a crybaby wah and a volume pedal so I'll be fine without the EXP-1
