Maybe this is already common, but what the heck. I have an Ovation VXT (SD h'buckers and fishman piezo stereo out). I pack my mini down to beach about 1/2 hr each way, so weight matters. Anyhow.... I use a Pandora effects box and out that to aux in, so can have both sort of acoustic sound (or whatever your heart desires) and all the fun regular Mustang sounds.
Haven't tried yet, but even with mono guitar seems you could use an ABY box and send one to your fave processor and other to reg input and have all sorts of fun playing with even more unusual mixtures... I would suggest an eq before hitting ABY box to boost it a tad, as those things do drop the output.
Just a fun way to noodle around, and hope someone tries and enjoys. :D

Hi Emster 23,

Thanks for your interesting feedback and ideas here. We would only want to add for the benefit of others that when you are using the Aux Input on the Fender® Mustang™ series amps as your input, you will of course be bypassing the Mustang modeling. Other than that, the differences in impedance from Instrument to Line inputs would need to be considered.
Thanks again for your thoughts.

Best Regards,

Hello! I have questions about the aux input. Have Mustang II v.1.
1) Is aux input a gap between modeling preamp and 40w poweramp? Is it a same line-in like the "return" in fx-loop of some amplifiers?
2) Where in this case a "master volume" potentiometer have been placed? Is he placed after "aux" and before "phones" to control volume of both jacks?
3) Can i use high voltage output of some tube preamps into aux input without damage the amp?

I need help on these issues
Lack of a scheme of mustang is not good... :(
