Hey,
I am getting a head and cab set up now instead of my old but strong mustang 3. As i am on quite a low budget, i saw that the Fender Mustang V cabinet was really cheap on it's own considering it's a 4x12.

Do you know if it will work with the head i've got in mind? (Blackstar ID:60 TVP-H)

Thanks

it will work so long as you match the impeadances,.

Also bear in mind the Mustang V 4x12 cabinet is really two 2x12 units in the same physical case. Electrically the two 2x12 units are completely independent; you need two separate amps to drive them (which is what the separate left and right channel amps in the Mustang V head do). If you want to connect the two 2x12 units together to a common amp source, as previous reply said, make sure you know what you're doing with impedance matching.

i believe that each speaker is 16ohms, two of the speakers are wired in parallel per side giving you an impeadance of 8ohms per side, if the cabinet is to be used with a mono head the speakers would need to be rewired to just one of the jacks, impeadances here are important as to not damage the head, if you need a 4ohm load you would wire the two 8ohm loads in parallel, if you need an 8ohm load you will only be able to use 2 of the speakers. unless my math is wrong, but I don't think you can wire an 8ohm load from four 16ohm speakers,

ok I have looked up the manual for the amp in question, it says there are 2 speaker outputs in parallel for hooking up cabinets, minimum load is 4 ohms, so you would be ok to hook these up to the mustang cabinet as is, but I would open the mustang cabinet and wire the 2 8ohm loads in parallel to just one of the jacks and run the 4 12's at 4ohms for more power, hope this helps,

You don't need to do this; the two outputs on the amp already have this parallel connection. So unless you want to save on cables, just running two cables from the two amp outputs to the two speaker inputs achieves the same thing.

I was only going by the only pic I could find of the back of a mustang cabinet, the pic was small and I didn't see anything except two seprate jacks, I have the mustang V head but I do not own the matching cabinet, I got some Peavey 8's for a good price so I built my own 4x8 cabinet and wired 2 8's per side, 2 jacks 8ohms per load, so I assumed that the mustang cab is wired in a similar fashion,. whatever works, the main thing I was trying to get across is how important proper impeadances are when dealing with amplifiers and speakers of any kind
