I have a credit card with reward points that can be used at Amazon; and I am thinking about blowing $90 worth of points on this pedal... so on one hand it is a free Christmas present for myself but on the other hand its $90 worth of points that I could spend on anything... including a Crybaby or other pedal.

I see nothing but completely mixed reviews. How are owners liking it with their Mustangs? Could you, or would you want to, live without it? Or do you wish you had gotten something else for the money? Appreciate any and all advice!

Seeing how I bought the Supersonic 60 now and am selling the M4 I wish I hadn't bought the EXP pedal 2 months ago and that I'd have bought a Crybaby instead  However that is the ONLY limitation to EXP pedal - that it can be only used for Mustang series amps. It otherwise works lovely, you can get great wah effect from it, you can literally use it for anything. Ok, it isn't midi based so you can only change 1 parameter at the same time, but that's it.

I loved it and it is a great addition to Mustangs. I have gigged with it and as long as you don't change the EXP parameter of the preset on the spot, you should be good to go :)
I haven't really been using the volume mode of the pedal much as I didn't like the fact that you had to push it all the way down to initiate the expression mode, but I did use expression mode on a few presets to change the volume parameter of preset. And if you want to change the volume parameter, on the preset itself, without your computer to also adjust the EXP parameter (if you have the expression mode set on the volume parameter in that specific preset) - well it's impossible to be honest as your pedal will move slightly and you'll have a noticeable drop in volume (if you increased the preset volume without adjusting the pedal for this preset) or an increase in volume (if you decreased the preset volume without adjusting the pedal).
So if you have the expression mode set on any parameters which affect the perceived volume and want to change that on the spot, on a gig, it won't work because the vibrations on the floor, and even the gravity, will affect the pedal enough for it to slightly shift and thus change the parameter and increase/decrease perceived volume. To put things more plainly - if you had your volume set at 2 and the expression mode to take it from 2-3, then you realize you gotta set your volume at 4 on a gig (in that specific preset) you won't be able to set EXP's expression mode to go from 4 to 5 in that specific preset (unless you have it hooked up to a computer) and as soon as the pedal moves even slightly, the volume will go down to anywhere between 2 and 3. So you really gotta figure out all these things while you have your amp hooked to a PC.
You can easily adjust other stuff on the spot though, even those parameters that you do control with the EXP - nothing will be as dramatic and as apparent as anything that affects volume if you don't adjust EXP along with adjusting the parameter of the preset.

That being said it does emulate stuff like turning off wah when you go from expression mode (provided you are using it to control any wah parameter in that preset) into volume mode.
I also think that if you will be using it mainly as a volume pedal, the expression mode will be useless for you. I was using it mainly as an expression pedal and the volume mode was useless for me and I reckon that's the case for most of EXP users ;)

The quality of mine was very good though.

So bottom line - I'd say go for it as long as you don't intend on moving from mustangs any time soon and as long as you really set up all the parameters in advance. You will be able to change any other parameter on the spot without any hassle, but changing the parameter of the preset that you control via expression mode of the pedal will be tricky (even more so if it's a parameter that affects perceived volume).
I could live without it if I had a wah, but it sounds equally good and is cheaper than most wahs and give you foot control over other parameters as well. It can come in handy, but it really depends on what kind of music you play, how you use your delay, etc. You, most likely, won't be using it to affect stuff like treble, for instance, though, at least in most cases so wah and volume will be your main use. You can get around with creating a new preset for getting a volume boost, wah is useless unless you have the pedal though.
