Hi

I read somewhere that it is possible to switch the amp into 75W mode, is this true ?
And will it still be stereo ?
Because i'm thinking about buying this amp but i'll use it at home and 150W might be to much, so would be great if the 75W thing is true.
And i mean with the use of the original cabinet 4x12 !

Thanks in advance

I've never heard of that before- switchable output on a Fender Mustang.

Honestly, these amps don't need it. All the tone is from the pre-amp modelling. The power section simply makes it louder. Thus, they work perfectly well- and sound great- at low volumes. The power rating has little to do with this.

In your case, with the MV, the only "problem" you may have is the 4x12 cabinet. 4 12" cones move a lot more air than 1 or 2. For home use, a head and 4x12 cab could be overkill. For playing out, it's fine- the volume is very controllable on these amps.

I play a Mustang V V.2 and Mustang 4x12 at home all the time... just keep the volume below 3! 8) You will not sacrifice any tone because there are no tubes to push to breakup.

Also, remember with a Mustang V head you can also simply plug in earphones anytime!

Your information comes from the fact that the Mustang V has two speaker outputs that each put out 75-watts at 8-ohms. Unfortunately, you cannot run just one channel without the other. That would be like turning on a tube amp without hooking up a speaker cabinet first. You'd blow the power amp without a load.

Yes you can, I have the V connected to ONE cab only in the rehersal room (only one input on the cab there). It also says on the back of the Mustang V v.2:
"A single speaker may be connected to either the left or right output for mono operation"

Thanks man! My Hellraiser is the V1 vee-shaped in arctic white. Discontinued and getting hard to find! Love it for rocking out, but my American Special Strat is still my go-to axe around the house!

Now you're speaking my language! I own three Schecters.

Stiletto Extreme 4 bass
Omen Extreme 4 bass
Solo Special guitar. This last is a Les Paul Special-alike, with a soapbar P90 in the neck. All mahogany, flat top, standard LP fittings and controls, and push/pull coil split/tap tone pots. Trans red with black pickguard. Finish looks very SG like. Also has the fancy MOP inlays.

I gotta agree, Schecter makes some very nice instruments, and prices them affordably, too. Well built, great fit and finish, and they come well setup and ready to play. They come with pretty good pickups in them. I was frankly astonished at the massive difference in tone between the Solo Special, and my Fenders and Ibanez RG. All of those- even the HH loaded ones are much brighter than this one. This one's tone is so warm and smooth- it gave me exactly what I'd been looking for.

Plug it into my MIII, on the Brit 60's or 70's model, roll up the gain a bit, hit some power chords, and get rewarded my this smooth bassy growl that always brings a huge smile to my face. :D

Yeah, Schecter is underrated in my opinion. You get so much for your money in a Schecter. Built and set-up superbly, nice flame and quilt tops, abalone and MOP bindings and inlays, Grover locking tuners, mine being a Hellraiser has active EMGs with coil-tapping... you can't touch stuff like this in many other brands for under $1000.

My Solo has passive Duncan Designed pickups w/coil tapping. Separate volume and tone pots for each pickup.

Both basses have Schecter pu's and active eq's. I definitely agree on the finishes- the Stiletto has a gorgeous quilted maple top in a trans black cherry burst. The Omen is an archtop with flamed maple and a vintage sunburst finish- that one grabbed me by the eyeballs, and compelled me to pick it up and play it. Shortly thereafter, I traded in my Raiden special for it.
