Hi guys
As I say I think the mustang amps are amazing, but I do noodle on my Yamaha THR10c recording/practice amp and think this comes close tone wise.
Here is a video of how it sounds.
See if you can hear a difference from mustang amps

why do you keep bumping this?
the video is of the Yamaha THR alone, not the THR and Mustang compared to each other
and it's not you playing it.. and there's better THR demos on YouTube

I have no experience with the yamaha amp, but looking at the specs on internet I have found that it has two 8 cm speakers?
If that is true I frankly do not think it plays in the same league as the Mustang 3, probably more like the Mustang Floor with headphones maybe?

sorry dude.. apologies for my reaction
I do think the official Yamaha one by Soren Andersen on YouTube can't really be bettered as it covers different styles.
But a You Tube clip is only an approximation of what anything sounds like.. THR does sound very good on the clips, but I agree with Jedi. Anyway the only test is to try one for real!

So what made you want both ? They fill different needs I think..

No problem, I use it mainly for recording although my mustang III is good for that as well..
I had this before I got the mustang and It is just handy to pick up and take anywhere even without power just use batteries which last really well. I even miced it up through the pa on a gig once and it sounded sweet..
But the mustang rules all the way...

this is like comparing apples to potatoes..

The THRs are great for what they are, if your only goal is recording, you can use just about anything.

The THR sounds great in the clip. Is the sound coming from the headphone out or the USB?
I'm thinking that the Mustang III might be better for me with its balanced outputs, since I'm looking to do "non-computer" recording.
