Hi Everyone, I have the Mustang I V.2 amp and would like to use my collection of pedals with it at times.

Will the mustang work with the pedals?

If so, is there a certain clean preset I need to use?

Thanks...

Here’s a list of pedals I’ve used and a few notes:

Joyo Ultimate Drive-This is a Fulltone OCD clone and works swimmingly with every preset I’ve paired it with. The huge plus about this pedal and assumedly with the Fulltone OCD since it’s a clone, is the Voice toggle switch. I find that if there is a preset that could use a little more top end or less bottom with the pedal I can just flip the switch and not need to with the tone knob. I use this for a mild gain to goose the 65 Deluxe, 65 Princeton, HiWatt (Britt Watts), Twin, Vox and it works swimmingly. My favorite pairing for this pedal is with the 65 Deluxe.

ProCo RAT- This pedal works fantastic as well. I tried both the big box vintage with the magic LM308 chip, as well as the one I own which is the current production Rat2 and both work great. I use this for lead sounds. I love this paired with the HIWatt, Princeton and Deluxe as well. Haven’t tried it with the Vox or Twin models yet. The Black Box nails the Rat sound BTW. A/B’d the two and they’re nearly identical with the actual pedal just offering a little more smoothness on leads but for rhythm its there for sure.

Biyang Fuzz Star – This pedal is a muff clone and a damn good one. The volume comes on a bit strong but it really sings with the HiWatt Preset. Don’t like it as much with the Deluxe and Princeton models but to be honest I’m just so giddy about it with the HiWatt model I tend to just use it with that. It has a toggle switch that adds an LED clipping diode that gives you I nice mid boost if you want it.

Fuzz Face Mini – I really wanted this pedal to work with the mustang. It was adorable and loved that it had the original design of the old silicon FF. the trouble I had with it though was I suppose due to the lack of tone knob. I just couldn’t dial it in to work with any preset I tried without having to tweak the crap out of the preset to make room for the FF. I also had trouble with the bottom end being hard to handle and seemed to overload the front end of the amp.

To sum it up… the HiWatt, Deluxe, and Princeton models are probably my favorite models for use with external pedals.

And the Ultimate drive is my favorite of the pedals I’ve tried with my Mustang.

The AMT-metal pedals works wonder with the "Studio Preamp-channel"!

The Ultimate Drive works awesome!

The metal-muff doesnt work though, I have tried through every amp-model and the only thing I get is thin ear-piercing dist or half-bad distortion that is inferior to the Metal2000 and American 90-amp-models.

The metal-zone is also inferior to the already built in Metal2000 and American 90.
