nice recording, I like the melancholic style.

by the way first time I hear a wah used in this kind of song and sounds interesting as a concept.
Out of curiosity, are you using a EXP-1 with the mustang wah effect or an external pedal?

thanks. it's a real Dunlop original crybaby. only reason I have it is it came with my american standard strat I bought in Dec. 2011. either fender or musicians friend were running a special...buy a strat and get a free dunlop pedal.

i have wondered how the exp pedal that goes w/ mustang would compare

by the way I paid $765.00 (tax free, free shipping) for the strat too...and still got the pedal. they gave me 15% off the already $100 rebated price.

all you have to do is ask.

people stop overpaying for gear so it will be easier for all of us to get good prices.

what i'm saying is simply call MF or GC and ask for 15% and they give it to you, even fender products that are supposedly excluded from whatever promotion they are running (which is always--everything is always 15% off)

thanks. seriously dude....I don't mind sharing that "secret". if all of us insisted on that discount every time, it puts pressure on them....simply supply and demand

I have bought literally 5 Fender guitars and 3 fender amps (some as gifts....I went through this phase where I gave electric guitars to people like for wedding presents when they didn't ask for it lol) from musicians friend and got 15% discount (also no tax and free shipping!) every time.....

FEnder is always excluded from whatever "sale" they are having on their website (which is always...as soon as one ends, the next begins)...but you CALL them at the 1-800 number and they will give you the discount.

to be totally honest sometimes I think it was only 10%....but I got a 2011 american standard strat for $765.00 (brand new)!!!!......I could probably sell it used right now and come out even because it's supposedly a $1049 guitar.

I got my M4 amp for $425 when they were $499. (no tax....$425!)

still loving my M4 v1 BTW.

the amp is better than my playing...I gotta work on my playing and stop GASing for a tube amp that I can't turn up in my home anyway

I did a little "gig" last night and actually got folks to come out and watch me...drew them from another stage where kids were playing flat out noise and i was playing Nirvana songs......people were actually appreciative and I was like leading a sing-along

M4 was awesome and I got many questions about it.

I will be doing separate thread...I got a video of some of it before the battery died.

used twin model mainly....played clean with preset volume on 8 and master at 4 and it was LOUD.....

used OD pedal a bit and could not believe how much thunderous low end my M4 can give me.. (I literally had never really come close to turning it up before)

BTW on a rickety wooden stage and my foot tapping to keep time was shaking the stage....... M4 never "jumped presets" lol

I've never heard of a Mustang jumping presets before. Is this a real issue, or were you just kidding?

Thanks,

it happened to me a couple times that the big dial (the preset selector) kind of falls and stays in the middle of two presets and eventually moves to the new position by itself. Probably happened twice in 2 years of use.

It was a bigger problem a while ago...I noticed it in the effects knob not the preset knob; same preset but for example Sine Chorus would become Vibe, or something like that. Not necessarily to do with vibration as it sometimes happened without any sound produced.

After discussions with TSL, I got some preview firmware which was less sensitive to encoder counts that eventually went into a release (2.5?). Haven't had a problem since...

Cheers.

Ha. That was a little joke (well, not really) for those who have read a few of my threads here from last week. I had my M4v1 jump for the first time ever after I put a supercharged overdrive pedal through it. Some theorized that it could be from vibrations or the wheel being too sensitive and not clicked into place. So I was letting them know that I just played my M4 on a rickety wooden stage that literally bounced like a wrestling ring with volume on 5 (loud) and it did not jump do to physical movement of the dial, or at all. It was a win-win.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate them! Sounds like the preset/effects jumping is more of a quirk and not enough of an issue to stop me from getting a Mustang.
