Hi,
I having a problem with my Fender Mustang II.
Whenever i strummed a chord the sound cuts off and immediately back after 0.5-1.5 seconds on almost every preset. However there are no problem when i play single note/string.
In order to use this amp i cant have more than 3-5 volume on my guitar and turn Master volume on the amp all the way up to 7-10 to prevent "cut-offs" while strumming. And i have to say that this is pretty annoying and even with master volume maxed the sound will still not be enough on a small gig.

I tried following things:
-different guitars with the amp; Epiphone Les Paul, Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin.
-cables; 4 different.
-plugging ipod with backtracks; sounds good, no "cut-offs" on the tracks.
-headphone plugged; "cut-offs" still there.
-all different presets; only a few works without "cut-offs" while strumming.
-reset the amp to factory settings; Power on while holding Exit.
-Mods, Reverb/delay and all the other settings.

I just dont know whats the problem, it's pretty much unusable for gigs and only works as a low volume practice amp in a small room.
The Mustang II is in good shape, havnt use it for awhile since i had other amps.
Would be grateful if any1 can explain what the problem is or have the same problem.

I'm not sure, I bought this amp long time ago, about two years ago. And the musicalshop I bought the amp is out of business :(

Doesn't matter. Mustangs have a 5-year warranty and you just locate the nearest Fender dealer for warranty service/repair/replacement.

Problem Description

What is the length of the warranty period on my Fender product?

Solution

Warranties and the methods for administering warranty service will vary depending on the country in which you reside.

If you are in the United States or Canada, please click here, or contact our Fender Consumer Relations Department and a representative will be happy to provide you with information. Please refer to the literature, which accompanies your product for details and limitations of the warranty for the specific product you own.

If you are outside of the U.S. or Canada, please check with the Fender Distributor in your country or area, or the Fender Dealer from whom you purchased the product for specific details on the warranty coverage for your instrument.

Thanks for the info. I live in Sweden.
Another question; Do i need to take the amp to a Fender servicecenter or any Fender product dealer?
The only Fender service center i know in Sweden is pretty far away (www.gmgservice.com), and the transport fee is probably around 100dollar, i dont know if its really worth to sent it in.
Anyway I will take the amp to a guitarshop tomorrow and see what they suggest, since the store i bought the amp is out of business.

It sounds like any Fender dealer (not necessarily the service center) could at least tell you what the policy is. Who knows, the local dealer might be able to ship it to the service center for you without charge. It's definitely worth seeing what they can do for you.

In all of Europe, there's a minimum 2 year warranty which cannot be abridged by contracts with the seller, i.e. any warranty the seller provides must be on top of and extend this. (Apple was taken to court over selling "warranties" that had less rights than the customers already had.)

In addition, Norway and Sweden have a redress right ("klagomaal", "reklamasjon") which extends some of your rights to up to five years for products which are intended to last substantially longer than two years. Cosmetics and minor defects won't be covered by this, but major defects that prevents the product from being used will. An amplifier should qualify for this.

Again, what the manufacturer states as their warranty terms won't affect either of these rights.
