Mustang 3 v.1, 6 months old, but out of warranty due to it being the (2nd) replacement of the original bought just over 2 years ago.

I've tried eliminating possible causes for this current problem : I've changed cables to the 2 and 4 button pedals, and subsequently removed the pedals completely to take them out of the equation.
I've changed instruments, and cables between guitar and amp, to no avail.
I initially stuck with one pre-set only - the Basic '57 Deluxe.

OK, then...here we go
Nothing plugged in, amp volume ranging from zero to full...got the expected hiss.
Lead plugged in, but no instrument...amp volume ranging from zero to full...got the expected hiss.
Same lead, but this time with guitar, guitar volume at 0....amp volume also on zero....no problem. No hiss....exactly as expected.
Guitar plugged in, guitar volume still at 0....amp volume ranging from zero to full, expected hiss....
But...

Guitar plugged in, guitar volume at anything above 0....amp volume 1 or above... Sound, but there's also an audible intermittant "electrical click".
After experimenting, found that either/both amp and guitar volume makes the "click" louder. Not more frequent - every 3 to 4 seconds maybe, but it's not a regular pattern - but certainly louder.

Altering the pre-set, I found that the characteristic of the chosen one also alters the click...for example, choose "slap echo rockabilly", and the click responds with an echo!

For all the world, the "click" sounds like a "static" electrical discharge....

Anyone else with similar problems?
Any ideas what it could be/how to cure?

make sure not your amp nor (specially) your guitar are nowhere near any wifi equipment (laptop, PC, router, etc) nor bluethoot equipment (mouse, headset) nor cell phone.
guitar pickups are REALLY good at catching those signals.

Good advice - thank you - but can rule all the above out in this case.
Perhaps "click" is the wrong description - it's more of a crack, a "discharge" rather than interference....

Hi
Take a look at my previous post, it seems my amp had the same fault as you described.
