I put this hunk of #%^&^ in storage years ago because I could not get fuse to work. I have tried multiple times to get it loaded again tonight.
Nada.
The same old problem. Errors trying to open files after the down load.
Any help or do I just throw the thing out the window.
I figured after all this time things may be better but I assumed too much.

Which version of FUSE did you download? By "after the download" do you mean you downloaded it but can't install it, or you've downloaded and successfully installed it, but can't run it?

What *exactly* do you do, what *exactly* do you see?

Does the amp itself work fine? With a Mustang IV, you can still do a lot on the amp itself without using FUSE. It remains an excellent-sounding, very versatile and easily-configurable amp in its own right, so no reason not to use it. What setting(s) specifically do you need to change for the amp to be usable for you? Someone may be able to suggest a non-FUSE way of doing that.

Why don't you check out the troubleshooting documents posted in the FUSE section of the forum and let us know if that doesn't get you fixed up?

You posted this in the Mustang section of the forums. FUSE has its own section, because it is the software for multiple amp models.

I can not get Fuse to load to the computer. Keep getting the errro notices when it trys to open files and load. I tried hitting Ignore to see how many files it could not open and it was most of them. I am trying to download what ever Fuse has up now. Same thing a couple of years ago
I have googled how to fix the problem many times and the sections it takes me to in the Fuse forum are old fixes and none work.
The amp works fine but I bought it for the ability to use Fuse. I have other amps from other makers.
The product support section in Fuse is not up to date and I rarely saw resolutions. Mostly "We will look into that"

It sure was not very smart, at all, to have something not working and then put it in storage only to come back to it years later, as opposed to figuring out the problem and potentially making a warranty claim back when it was fresh in your mind, before storage. Other than that, tldr.

It's not the amp's or software's fault, why so angry!

definatley software. when I first got this there were alot of people having the same problem.
Too many hours spent deleting files and reloading.
I have other similar products from other makers and never had these troubles.
Support pages only give very old answers to problems and not fully answered.
I should not have to spend this kind of time to get things working.
That being said. I went through the list provided and I was able to get it loaded and recognize the amp. I just did it all so not sure which step helped.
Still a few little glitches from the desktop icon shows as an unrecogized software symbol and the the fuse symbol to I cant get it to recogize the downloaded presets. I am sure the second one is probably something I have not figured out yet.
But at least I can quickly set the amp via a few mouse clicks.
Thanks again to those with constructive answers.

Hey, glad to see things have improved. The amp and software are both great once you get everything set up properly.

Were you logged in as a local Administrator for the computer when you installed the software? Did you try restarting the computer after installing?

can't get what to recognize the downloaded presets? The computer, the amp, or FUSE?

Also, note you have received an answer directly from Fender, this is your golden ticket very close attention from Fender. This is your best bet:
