I sold mine and boxed it beautifully in the original box and taped it up with my last tape. I don't recall if the USB cable originally came with the amp. (If it did it is ridiculously short and luckily I had an extension with a female connector on it . I know I had the same cable with the large and small male ends for my camera and that cable is not in my camera bag. Do I owe this buyer that USB cable. Every advertisement quotes USB capability but after looking at M's F and Sweatwater's descriptions and even on Fender's site is it not said nor implied that the requisite USB cable is enclosed in the package when shipped. I need to ship this tomorrow 09/18/2013. Do I need to rip it back open, go buy new tape and put this puny short cable in the box? I want to be completely honest and give him what he's supposed to get. Anyone recall getting the USB cable with the Mustang 1 v2? Thanks.

I noticed another thread where it was said that purchased from Guitar Center didn't contain the CD or the usb. I bought mine at GC in a box but am sure there was no Fuze Cd. What's more, the cable I have been using is the 24 inch one that came with my Panasonic digital camera plugged into an extension USB cable I had which has a female connector on one side and male on the other. Though I don't remember opening a USB cable when i got the amp, I doubt Fender would send a 24 inch dinky cable like that you'd use for an MP3 play of camera. So it looks like I got one of those one minus those goods. It could be possible that Fender has been selling returns and turning the around in new packaging sans the disk and cable. I decided to ship mine as is without my camera USB cable and I enclosed a not say that he'll have to get one. There's nothing else I can do, I'm not ripping that box open and sending a jury-rigged dink cable and an extension I bought for a printer that couldn't reach the computer. I would have griped had it said USB provided or enclose instead of USB capable. I guess it's just one of the many buggaboos lately giving me fits. Thanks for answer.

With GC, you have to be very careful when buying, so you get everything you should.
I bought a Tele there, and they gave me a case with a broken zipper and two extra trem bars and the paperwork for a Strat. Instead of the top hat switch, it also came with a small strat one. Not a single dime off for messing up either - if you leave the store with it, you accept it.
Caveat emptor. You can find good buys there, though, just beware.

The amps no longer come with a CD, all the software is now download-only. This has been the case for some time, although there was never (to my knowledge) an announcement and the product packaging and instructions didn't change, leading to obvious confusion for some people.

Heh, no matter what I buy I always toss the CD aside and head directly to the manufacturer's site for the latest version. They are a waste of money and resources.

The only CD I've needed in the last several years is one for a network card that Windows didn't recognize and even then I could've downloaded what I needed from another PC and saved it to a USB stick. I suppose if I didn't have more than one PC in the house then I would've really needed that CD. :D
