Hey--I am the owner of a Mustang III, and a Mustang IV. I just bought the Mustang Floor to lighten the load of lugging the IV to rehearsals and gigs.

I added all my tried and true presets into the floor. I've run the floor through two separate PA systems, and it just doesn't sound as good as my IV. The clean sounds I use are okay, although slightly saturated. But my overdrive presets sound awful...like an cheap overworked amp with too much distortion. Through the IV, my 'heavy' presets sound amazing...but the same preset with the floor thorigh the PA sounds like I have the fuzz turned up to 11.

I ran the floor through a clean channel on my IV and did not get that saturated sound.

What am I doing wrong????

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hi,

I have a very similar setup and this is what I did to make the floor sound well through the PA:
-make sure you select an appropriate EQ setting on the MFloor UTIL menu, in my case what works best is "PA system + bass" also adjust the treble and bass parameters on the util menu as required
-LOWER the MFLOOR output!: you almost certainly are saturating your PA ingress, particularly with overdriven sounds. Try lowering the MFloor output to 25-30% (on the physical knob in the back of the floor) and that should be more than enough to feed your PA. perform any aditional adjsutments on the PA itself.

Hi laywrite,

We will be happy to assist. It seems that jedi2b has offered some great advice, thanks jedi2b:) - We would advice you to play around with the Voice settings under the Utilities Menu to see if that helps you get closer to a more desirable tone. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Thank you both. Much appreciated. I believe my issues was the output dial, which I had at 12:00. Thanks again!

I did exactly this the past Saturday night. I hooked my Floor straight into the PA, set the output config to PA + bass and turned the output down a 1/4. I had KILLER tone, extremely happy with and got several compliments from players in other bands. I was using mostly preset 63, South Of Heaven. What a joy to not have to shlep an amp around too.

Laywrite...it wasn't our PA but I'll try to remember the best I can. I think the mains where Peavey SP-4s with some older Peavey subs. The mixer was a nice later model also Peavey. We where using Behringer self-powered 15" as monitors. There was also a power conditioner and compression of some sort. Pretty typical setup I think. It was an outdoor event but all things considered I think we sounded OK, and like I said I am real happy with the Mustang Floor. I can send you some audio if you are really interested...Doug
