Hey I just got the mustang floor after owning the mustang 1 for a while, but i really need a new cabinet or amp to use with the floor just to be louder. Do you guys recommend I use just a cabinet or a combo amp. I don't really want to get another mustang because I enjoy tube amps more and like the tone. I was looking into vox ac15c and tech 21 power engine, but I'm still not sure.

From other people's reports, both routes work successfully, depending on what sound you want.

The Mustang Floor provides all the amplifier sound-creation you'll need, so plugging it into a neutral power amp / speaker, such as the Tech 21 Power Engine, will give good results. Some people plug the M-Floor straight into the PA mixing desk and don't even bother with a separate amp/speaker specifically for the guitar. You could probably even plug the M-Floor into an 'aux' input of your home hi-fi just to get sound amplification, although for some reason I personally find that sort of thing never sounds quite right. YMMV.

On the other hand, if you have (or want to get) a good guitar amp (valve/tube or otherwise), then that will also work great with the M-Floor. You may want to turn off (or at least limit the effect of) the amp modelling in the M-Floor in that case, and just use it as an effects unit. The sound/tone you get from the M-Floor's amp modelling may interfere with the real amp's natural sound. In most cases that probably isn't what you want, although I'm sure you could experiment and get some great sounds with that setup too.

Note if you're using the M-Floor just as an effects unit, you have to have all its effects either before the real amp, or in the real amp's fx loop. You can't (as you can with some other multi-fx pedals) split the signal chain to have both 'pre' and 'post' effects (search for "4 cable method" for details). That may not matter to you, and certainly for many people isn't an issue, just mentioning it for completeness.

I'd suggest the following criterion to help in your decision: would you sometimes want to use the real amp on its own, without the M-Floor? If the answer's yes, then buy a proper guitar amp such as the VOX you suggest. If the answer's no, then a powered monitor (eg Tech 21) may be the better option.
