I have a Mustang V which has a stereo effects loop. I have a mono EQ pedal and a couple distortions I'd like to run through the effects loop, as they sound horrible in front of the amp. I figured a couple 1 female to 2 male Y adapters would do the trick. I plugged the males into the in/out on the effects loop, effectively turning it into mono (or so I thought). Then I ran cables to my in and out on the pedalboard as normal.

Well it seems I was wrong. No matter which way I configure it, I'm only getting effects in one channel. Anyone find a way around this?

I suspect the socket on your 2-into-1 lead is a stereo socket. When you put a mono plug into it, it's only picking up one channel.

What you need is a lead (ok, two leads...) with a mono socket connected to two mono plugs.

Note this is a bad way in general to try and mix a stereo signal to mono. It will work but sound quality will suffer. The best way to do this is with a proper two-into-one mixer.

Thanks Scott, you were right. I just got an ABY box. I hate the space it uses, but it works.
