Hi!

How can I edit the v1 Mustang IV stereo chorus in to a mono chorus? I gig live with this amp (totally rocks!) and don't want to have to mic both speakers anymore, but I love and use chorus effects frequently.

thanks!
Wally

Ohh ohh!!! I might have an answer for this! :D

Per Fender Staff:

Our reverbs create a “stereo” signal from a mono input. If you don’t place a reverb effect in post position, the reverb will sound mono. This is because the amp model mono-izes the signal before processing.

Does the same concept apply to the Stereo Chorus? Try placing it in the 'pre' position, does that work (assuming it can even be placed in the pre, I don't have it in front of me to try right now)?

thanks for your suggestion, but even if that does work, chorus sounds kinda muddy if you place it before your overdrive/distortion.

thanks!

ahhh ok tarue. I guess we'll see what Fender says. I haven't been using any of the built-in chorus m'self, I'm very happy with this in my pedal board:

Hi wallyhooker,

We will be happy to assist. it seems that strings10927 has offered some great advice, thanks strings10927:) If you place any effect in the pre position it will switch any stereo effect into Mono. Now this might not be the desirable for your application, in which case we do not have a problem with you using an external pedal to achieve the tone your looking for:)

Ive been happily using a MXR ZW chorus pedal with great sonic results with my V1 Mustang. Ive tried it in the front and through the fx loop(where I have it most of the time). Realy fattens up the tone for all my guitars. I really love it when using any of the Fender sims and my Strat. Like heaven.
